Which book is better?

I've only seen the movie for Boy with the Striped Pajamas, and know next to nothing about Girl with a Pearl Earring, but which would you prefer to read?

And now a fun poll...

    Is it still tied?

FWIW, I've already read Girl with a Pearl Earring, and I wasn't crazy about it.

Man, I voted for the third option. Neither of those sounded appealing to me.

I have to say, I'm not excited at the idea of spending $10 on a kids' book I'll read in about 2 hours.

And ditto Elle, I've already read GWPE and thought it was good but not REALLY good.

but I'm also super partial to my own suggestion of a Georgette Heyer book. :)

I've already read Boy With the Striped Pajamas, which was very disturbing, so I voted for GWAPE.

I would say TBWTSP just because I'm weirdly obsessed with WW2 history.

Well, hey, that's good news. I'd always rather read something new! I just hate buying kids books for myself b/c they normally read so much faster and then I feel like I'm overpaying in terms of cost per hour of entertainment.

Yes, I prefer matinee movies, too.

I like to think of myself as financially savvy. Cheap just sounds so...cheap! ;)

I really enjoyed both of them. The Boy with the Striped Pajama was very sad, so I voted for the GWTPE.

Desert- Why not check out your local library? They might have a copy. I know mine has a few of both books. Save yourself the $6-$10.

</div><div>This is a great suggestion. I actually work in a library. But I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I have an anxiety about contamination and germs that impacts my ability to enjoy a library book and even a lot of used books. I mostly stick to new or e-books these days.</div><div>
