jcb - I have a co-worker who's really into marathon running, and he runs outside year round, no matter WHAT the conditions. 20 below windchill? He runs thirteen miles. He's crazy.
Also - is your pup a puggle? Ben and I are waiting to get a puppy for a few months but I think puggles are so damn cute...
msmerymac I haven't had problems with my FI , he's an amazing man. I had some issues with a friend of 22 years that I posted about. She went all psycho on me. And thank you for the sig help I will definately have to work on getting one up , still kind of new to this.
A side note.. You guys are making me so hungry with this avocado talk lol

The dog, now 70 lbs larger, actually pooped and peed on the carpet this morning. I'm so proud of her.
Raynes: I"ve been lurking on GIS, but I only ever feel like there's the check ins or accountability threads and I'm like "yeah, I had a sub for lunch and 4 slices of pizza washed down with some Coke. And the 500 calorie per tin Creamy Garlic Dipping sauce." and then I hate life.
Actually I'm a big dog person - ideally I'd like a lab or a retriever of some sort, but our townhouse complex has a 30 lb weight limit. Ben is the one who likes little fluffy dogs, all I can see is hair all over everything when he gushes at them. I swear, he turns into a girl when he's looking at dogs. We're dog sitting for our in-laws next week and the dog is a Pomeranian/shih-tzu cross. In other words, my worst nightmare
If I have to have a smaller dog I like the medium sized, more little sporty dogs like beagles or basenjis. I have fallen in love with puggles though... they are SO adorable
I'm glad to hear that puggles shed less than beagles - I am really, really trying to get Ben to come over to my side because he thinks they're okay, he just falls to pieces over the little fluff balls. I don't get it.
He also loves chihuahuas - and me, um. No. Plus I think it's halfway cruel to own one of them up here - our winters are so cold, and yeah of course you keep them indoors but they have to go out to do their business.
The last time he dragged me into the pet store they had a "chug" in there, a cross between a pug and a chihuahua. Ben could NOT stop staring at this dog. It was so tiny it could have fit in my hand, and I have tiny hands! NO!
I developed an extreme hatred for chihuahuas when I worked at Psmart. Yappy little fvckers were 90% of our bite cases in grooming and the boarding facility.
Right, KW? And I've never had one so I wouldn't know for sure, but apparently - they're uber territorial? Or they can be. And they think they're way bigger than they actually are and they think they call all the shots.
Ben thinks they're all adorable and all I see are yappy little rats.
Pretty much. We had one case where a worker was severely bit by a chi to the point where she was hospitalized. We thought for sure she had done something to initiate such an attack and nope. Video showed that she was just standing on one side of the room watching the dog run around and all of the sudden the dog comes flying over to her and starts ripping through pants and shredding her.
I'm not saying every Chi is like that, and I'm sure it's partly a training thing but it's part of why I dislike small dogs and don't trust them in public. Most owners look at small dogs as "cute wittle puppies" and don't bother to train them. Then they have major attitudes and start biting.
I really HATE chihuahuas! A good friend of mine works as a pet nurse and most of her bite cases are chihuahuas. They are yappy, shake all the time , they bite with no notice or signs and IMO down right obnoxious. I am a big dog person.
I totally know about chows being aggressive - and while Bubba was maturing we did see some pretty disturbing behavior. Once in a while his entire personality would change and he would RAGE. But once he stopped growing he really mellowed out. He never bites. And he's kind of a chicken shiit - he's afraid of the dark and he sits on the porch all night, under the lights, guarding the house and barking at whatever he hears in the darkness. Most dogs scarf their food but he eats very, very slowly. We've set kitchen plates on the porch with table scraps on them for him to eat and you go back five minutes later and he's still taking his time. And, he never poops in the yard. He always goes off in the trees or behind a building or something.
ETA - no, he's definitely heavier than 30 lbs
Kind of a dorky picture of my sisters and I a couple years ago but the photo shows what a big boy he is

They are loving, snuggly, & protective & inquisitive all rolled into one. Really good temperaments. Our 4 year old is around the 20 lb mark; the pup is about 18 lbs and is full grown. I'm not a fan of mini yappy dogs, nor would I want a big dog so I like that these are in the middle. But you were thinking about kind of a medium white fluffy dog, weren't you? Me too. Lol. But mine is more "Ate an entire bag of popcorn and a box of MilkDuds to myself, and NOW I'm working on that bag of carrots."
I really need to start cross-stiching again. I eat way too much when I'm bored.
