Snarky Brides

Tuesday morning..

Hey everyone! Good morning!

What are you all up to today? Right now, I'm trying to figure out one or two meals for the rest of the week. My mom is coming this weekend so we'll be eating out most of the time. Anyone else feel like they are in a dinner rut like me?

Re: Tuesday morning..

  • We've been in a major dinner rut for awhile. Beither of us has felt like cooking so we just make something quick or eat a salad.

I'm grumpy today, but hey I have tomorrow off so that's good. And for those of you who heard about the canceled event - I said to the coordinator that I hoped the kids didn't think I flaked out on them since I was looking forward to it, and she emailed me and said they didn't tell the kids or parents I was coming, it was going to be a surprise. So, I feel a little better knowing that.

I'll probably work from home some tomorrow, but I'm definitely sleeping in.
  • Morning!  I always feel like I'm in a dinner rut.  I feel like I make the same things over and over.  Especially when it's nice out and we can grill.  I try to throw in one newer recipe or something I haven't made in awhile every week, but when I get busy, it's the old standbys for sure.

Today is one of my long days at work, which is so not exciting, but oh well.  H has off today, and I'm jealous.  With our move and everything going on lately, I would love to have one day to just do nothing and relax.

  • Wow. She needs to just step away from the homework. And, her H needs to grow up and do his own work.
  • In other news, I think one of my caps on my teeth is loose. It's my fault because I was eating a chewy piece of candy but if it is loose, I'll be pissed. I hate going to the dentist so much.

I never understand why people get so agitated about eating the same things frequently. I love the things we eat. I definitely wouldnt call it a rut either.

I am really tired and in a really pissy mood. I want to move and leave my job NOW but there really isnt much available around where I want to work so this is going to take a lot longer than I want it to. Everything about work is annoying me, even just commuting there and back. I just dont want to be there.
  • Oh Lordy.  If I were him, I'd not want her help.

  • LHT, your friend sounds fun.

Morning.  We broke out of our dinner rut last night with the help of a new (to me) cookbook (The Silver Spoon), we made lemon glazed carrots and meatballs with spinach (in them), it was really good.

Now my co-worker is arguing with me about how much traffic is on my morning commute, neat.
  • Wow Hike that is a gem. Happy teacher's appreciation week haha. I'm in an art class room today. I get to teach about Sadakogirl who got leukemia from the radiation exposure ala Hiroshima. She tried to make 1000 paper cranes a symbol of health and longevity in Japan so she would get better. She died at 644. This is going to be a depressing day. Raining too.

  • SHe is quite the gem! Good morning I am up getting ready and doing some laundry and dishes. Our minister asked us to do a couples checkup since we are about to set the ceremony schedule and we scored very well. Not that it's needed, but it's kind of reassuring.

  • Good Morning!

Dinner rut here too but I don't think there is much cure for it.  My H's food allergies and such + My food intolerances + My dieting = food rut.  I don't know that there is any way around it.

The assessor is coming in 3 1/2 hours so I have some quick clean things to do like make the bed, hang pretty towels, and wipe down bathroom mirrors.  Yay!  A few short hours and it'll be over so I can just sit around staring at my completely clean house with virtually no housework that needs to be done for the rest of the week.
  • Doing her husbands math homework - I wish his instructor could see that.

Good luck with the crown Lets, or is it truly a cap?

I am so tired of work being a trainwreck. We have so much to do that we need two more paralegals to acomplish it all in any sane way, and no money now to hire new people. I have put my foot down about limiting my days the next few weeks to 11 hours and no weekends, and that is a real improvement over what we were doing.

Looking forward to the weekend already though. Taking mom to brunch and the theatre, getting our new roof done, and having time to finally paint the bedroom. Horray!

  • Happy Tuesday! Hey Lenore! Fancy seeing you here! :)

I'm so tired I can't form coherent thoughts in my head. I've slept on the couch since Thursday, except for Sunday night. I was awake all night trying to be still and not wake J up, and then when I finally fell asleep I exhausted myself in all my dreams because even when dreaming I was trying to be perfectly still. I think I'm broken. I've searched for mattresses until I'm sick.

The good news is I found a bed and a mattress online last night, so I'm going to order it tonight and rearrange all the furniture in the bedroom to make it fit.

Let'sHike, I hope your tooth is ok!

  • Hi Bec! Beds matter, glad you found one!

I am off to work - again.

    Morning!

Today will be interesting once it gets going.  I'm starting something I haven't done in awhile so fingers crossed it actually WORKS and I don't end up throwing a tantrum tomorrow if it doesn't.
J, I feel like we cycle through the same dinner routine too.  I don't particularly hate it but it get's old.  Every now and then I'll add a new recipe but mostly it's just easier to grab the same ol' stuff at the grocery store really quick on a Sunday night.
  • Morning, lovelies!

Just dropping by to say hi. I am going to be slammed at work today which really sucks cuz I'm exhausted to the max. I never knew I could feel so tired. I guess it must have been the best weekend of my life. Ha!

Oh, and that FB status is what's whack. Is her husband still in high school??

  • Thanks Hike, that was good for a laugh. Communist government indeed.

I've actually been trying new recipes regularly thank to Pinterest and this site. I'd say most weeks I make half new recipes and half old favorites. If anything were in a dining out rut. We have some great options by our house but we're starting to get sick of all of them,.

    My thoughts exactly.
There was nobody here when I got to school today, which is strange.  There was a small twinge of hope in me that we had some random day off taht I didn't know about.  The first students are starting to filter in the building now, so I guess that means school is still on.  I almost wondered if it was a day off for Teacher Appreciation Day or something.  Oh well!
  • Morning ladies.

I woke up early so Im catching up on DVR.  Its kind of rainy today and it was so nice yesterday.  I was hoping to plant some bulbs, but I dont think that is happening.

Nope, they are my age (30). Her husband must not have FB because she rants on him all the time, calling him a shiithead and an asshole. I should delete her but it's kinda a game to see what she'll say next.

  • Morning, all.

So, this is now the 5th week in a row where I have not slept past 4am. Last night was a doozy - I woke up at 2am and have been awake since. Couple that with the rainy weather and a quiet day at work and I think I might be asleep at my desk by lunchtime.

I feel like H and I are in a dinner rut too. We go to the grocery store and kind of just stare at the veggies and meat and stuff and never seem to come up with any new ideas. Although, last night we had cheese tortellini with roasted garlic alfredo sauce. I tossed in some roasted red peppers, baby spinach and the last of the rotisserie chicken we had in the fridge, and it was really, REALLY good. I'm looking forward to the leftovers for lunch, which never happens. Maybe I need to start browsing some cookbooks for inspiration.
  • Morning guys!! I slept like shiit last night but I don't even care because today is my Friday!!!  My parents are coming in a couple days to help us with some stuff around the house- fabric covered headboard, new kitchen sink/faucet, and putting trim around our builder's grade mirrors. My mom is asking if there is any housework that needs to be done. I feel bad having her do any, but she will not like just sitting around while we work. I swear my parents can just go go go, I think they about twice as much energy as I do!

We have been in a dinner rut for a while now as well. I really only do well if I write down the exact meals I will make for the next couple weeks, and then actually make sure I have all the stuff on hand.

Hey Jenna!! Congrats!! sounds like you had a great wedding weekend!!

    Good morning, ladies.

Hike, your friend is a moron.  She's 30 and has never even heard of the electoral college?

We had a nice light rain all night, and now the foothills are covered in snow.  It's so pretty with the sun just coming out.

Thank you!! It only rained DURING my ceremony but not for pictures and not for the reception. But it was A-Ok because we have awesome memories and we made everyone cry with our vows. :)  I couldn't have asked for a better weekend with family and friends. I loved every minute and can't believe it's over.

I have these PIP on my month board, too, but I'll give you guys a few extras too. :) These are only from FB.

  • Very sad morning.  Maurice Sendak (Where the Wild Things Are) died.  How many people were touched by his work?

H is still sick and coughing/ sneezing like a madman.  Poor baby.  We're headed to an outdoor concert tonight (how's this for a flavor combo - REO Speedwagon, Styx and Ted Nugent) and I'm afraid it'll make H's cold worse.  We need it to clear up soon because we're going diving on our vacation.  If he has a cold, then he can't dive.

I'm ready for a nap, and it's not even 8:00am.  I get a feeling it's going to be a looooong day.  Happy Tuesday all!
  • Great pics, jenna.

bk, I just read that. I took a class on children's lit and he was a major focus. My professor loves his work so I'm sure she's really sad today. And maybe it's lame, but as I was reading the article I kept thinking about how awesome for him to have seen his book turned into what I consider to me) a really great movie. I always loved his attitude when it came to critics and being all "whatever, I don't care if you don't like it."
  • Great pics Jenna. Congrats!
