which cruise line is better??

We are doing a cruise for the honeymoon and its between two: Royal Caribbean Grandeur of the seas ( i have cruised with them before) and Carnival Destiny were leaning towards the carnival one but I dont know anyone that has been on it so I would love some feed back about it! Thank you!

Re: which cruise line is better??

  • I always only cruise with Royal Carribbean.
RC is a classier, more grown up class of ships.
Carnival is more of a "fun ship".
Especially for a honeymoon, I would say go with RC!

Being married is a real thriller! =)

  • ok thank you!

  • I would say  Royal Caribbean
  • i've been on carnival, cunard, disney and princess. i found the serivce and food on carnival to be outstanding, priness to be disappointing, disney very good and cunard can't really be compared to them.
i have to say i was so happily surprised with carnival. i didn't expect to love it but i did. i didn't find it to be a 'party ship' at all!
to me the itinerary is FAR more important than the ship or line.
where do the 2 cruises go?

  • I'd go with Royal Caribbean hands down. RC and Carnival are the only two cruiselines I've been on and had a far better experience on RC. Both were fun, but RC was classier, had better food, nicer rooms, and less kids running around.

But I also ditto alithebride's comment on the itinerary is what is most important. I would choose a Southern Caribbean or Western Caribbean itinerary on Carinval before I'd go with an Eastern Caribbean itinerary on Royal Caribbean any day just because I found those islands to be much nicer and more to do. I'm kind of contradicting my statement in the first paragraph, but the itinerary is definitely more important, I just prefer RC over Carnival if they're similar itineraries. HTH!
  • carnival goes to Grank Turk, halfmoon Cay Bahamas and Nassau Bahamas and RC goes to Goerge Town Grand Cayman and cozumel mexico.
  • RC is a wonderful cruise line, VERY nice, better for a honeymoon than Carnival. I have been to Grand Cayman and its amazing.
  • I've only heard fabulous things about RC - and from what I've seen from the ships I'd pick them over Carnival any day. I've cruised both Holland America and Princess and was totally disappointed in Princess. Their rooms seemed outdated and the entertainment was cheesy but the food was great. HAL is definitely geared more toward the older generation. I was bored out of my mind on the ship when I went to the Caribbean in January. I loved their itenerary the best out of the major cruise lines that ran the Southern Caribbean. Bahamas, St. Thomas, Dominica, Martinique, St. Maarten and Barbados. It was fabulous!
  • I'd def stick with RC.  Although my line of choice is princess.  Make sure you go snorkel with the stingrays in Grand Cayman!  It was my favorite excursion I've ever done.
  • I've only been on RC but according to my future in laws (they been cruising 12+ times on various lines) RC is better for honeymooners then Carnival. I'm actually going on Grandeur of the Sea on Aug 9th-Aug 14 so I can let you know how that ship is at that time.
  • ok awesome christikao, please let me know what you think?
  • I've been on Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Lines.  Enjoyed before for 2 different reasons.  Royal Caribbean was nice because it was classier like the PP have said  but we preferred the entertainment on Norwegian and we could chose not to get dressed up if we didn't want to.  Also, the chocoholics buffet on Norwegian Cruise Line is incredible!   I think it depends on what kind of environment you are looking for because all the cruise lines are different.
  • DEFINITELY go with Royal Caribbean. I used to be a travel agent and saw some things about Carnival that turned me off to the brand. RC is cleaner. Thats all I will say. :)
