S/O - WoW

Yes, I'm obsessed!

Who else plays?  What server are you on?
And the all-important question: noble Horde... or duplicitous Alliance?  ;)

I'm a Tauren restoration shaman on Black Dragonflight.  I also have a prot paladin alt I run 10-mans with on those odd occasions that my guild comes up short a tank.

Re: S/O - WoW

  • Since we moved two months ago my husband and I haven't really had time - but we played A LOT not to long ago.

Our mains are horde and I have a ret paladin and a whatever-i-feel-like-that-day rogue. I also have a zillion lower-level alts that I play when I get bored.
  • I do, obviously.

    Garrosh, both horde and alliance

Lvl 80:  Holy/Shadow Priest, Prot Paladin, Feral/Balance Druid, Destro Warlock.

    Lvl 72:  Combat Rogue

    Lvl 61:  Beastmaster Hunter

    Lvl 34:  Frost Mage

Lvl 23?:  Warrior (fury for now)

Lvl 14:  Shaman (does spec really matter at this point?)

  • Eeesh, I haven't played WoW in ages!  It's been since last November when I was running the harvest quests with DH.

I have a Blood Elf (Horde) mage on Mal'Ganis.  I might start playing again when the next expansion comes out later this year.

Dragon Age and Mass Effect 2 now own my life.  I've pretty much traded out Blizzard for Bioware *heh*.

My license plate was LOL RET for a while!

... in my defense, my FI totally egged me on with that one.  He plays a prot paladin named "Retnewb", among other things.

  • I'm so bad at WoW that I don't even understand half of what you're saying, Celles.
But, my main character is a Level 59 Tauren Warrior, Horde obvi, on Lightbringer. I have an Alliance character that I've only played to like Level 8.

  • I love WoW... I play a bit too much and get sucked into midnight ICC runs that keep me up until 4...
I play mostly alliance but have a couple horde toons. My main server is Bladefist but I also have toons on a few other servers.
My main is an 80 assassination rogue, I'm honestly sick of her and it's so hard to get into raids and such as DPS. I'm currently leveling a resto Druid, she's level 63 right now. I also have tons over lower level toons that don't get much play time.

<div>Haha, I thought ret was a joke for a long time too (I was holy). But then we got a re-vamp and it was AWESOME. Pally healing puts me to sleep.</div><div>
</div><div>I hear we got some big changes in the past few weeks though, but I haven't been on much.</div>
  • Moose - We have some classes in common!  I have a destrolock and a balance druid at 80, but I think I'm going restoration with the latter.  I am horrible with all of my DPS characters.

Impslave - I've heard awesome things about Dragon Age!  I'm probably going to buy FI a copy for is birthday and "borrow" it.  :D

  • I've played since forever (ok, 2005), but I'm cancelling my account today. My PC took a big poo and I am so not interested in playing on the MacBook.

I play on a whole bunch of different servers, and have a bad habit of leveling to 70 and then stopping. I've had Wrath since release and have basically played none of it. I have a 70 lock, a 70 hunter and a 70 priest and then a WHOLE RACK of alts, including a druid which seems on target to be my next abandoned 70.

Awww man, our guild left lightbringer a year and a half ago or so.  If I were still there, I'd totally give you a hand - although I'm hopeless with warriors.

And H just showed me last week how to give my hunter pet talent points.

I also made it to level 60 without training my warlock pet...

I have a ton of stories that'll make you laugh and feel better.

Eh, it's what everyone calls them on my server and is much easier to type than character. Personal preference. I used to feel stupid calling them toons, now it's just easier and ingrained in my brain

  • Lone voice of the Alliance here, I guess. Blame my husband! He picked Alliance and I just sort of followed him. Gawd, that was 3 years ago...

I'm on Skywall, all of toons are in Digital Addiction

Lvl 80: Human Pally healer (yes, I'm still healing on her...); NE Boomkin druid; Draenei Elemental Shammy (that I don't love)

    Lvl 72: Gnome Affliction Lock

Lvl 36: Dwarf Hunter I haven't played in forever

Several Alliance toons below lvl 20 who will never get leveled.  I also have a lvl 13 BE Priest Shadow spec. I actually have been working on her lately.
  • And now I'm wondering if warlock pets also have talents...

Did I mention the lock was my first toon ever?  I made a MESS of her talents.

DH and I play on Uldaman, but I haven't seriously played in awhile.  I was looking forward to being able to play more in the 6 weeks I had taken off before having Emma.  Oops!

Horde and my main is an 80 belf holy/shadow priest.

Aw, that doesn't mean you're bad!  WoW is like three games in one: there's the leveling game, the PvP game, and -- eventually -- the raiding game.  The world itself is huge, so you can spend a lot of time just leveling and exploring.  It's actually kind of sad to get to 80 the first time, because you're all...  "Okay, now what?"

ANNNNND you chose the right side!  And race!

    I love Tauren -- they're so fluffy.  :)

  • Oh, right.  I've also got about 3 toons on Uldaman that I never play - a pally, a priest and a warrior.

  • Moose, by training your lock pet do you mean moving up from the imp?  Please tell me you were a level 60 lock running around with only an imp.

They don't!  Although it IS possible to equip bullets in your ammunition slot, even if you happen to be wielding a wand...

I was right there with you.  The first character I rolled was a druid, and I skipped around between talent trees.  One point in feral, one point in balance, one point in resto...  oh, she was a mess!

  • TJ - Did I tell you I'm @Elleiras?  I know I meant to, but I can't remember if I did or not.  I followed BRK to your blog forever ago.  I'm kind of burnt out on WoW blogging, but I still follow the community and I think we probably have some friends in common.

Also -- those decals are all kinds of adorable!

  • FI plays ALOT. I actually understand some of the things you all are talking about!

I feel the need to  AW about his grooms cake here, though, because not a lot of people know what I am talking about. I got a clay artist to sculpt his Amani War Bear to go on top of his cake (6-7" tall). Riding on the back will be one of his characters (a portly bull) in formal attire, and me in my wedding dress. There will also be a banner on the back of the bear that says "Just Married", so its like our getaway car. He thought that my idea to have a WoW cake was lame until I told him this. He's pretty stoked now. The guy who is making it is totally into the details, so this is really an investment in a pretty cool art piece that we can keep forever.

I am still working on scenery and/or other ideas for the rest of the decoration on the cake, so if any of you have any ideas besides creating a stone "floor" then please let me know!

<div>I started because H played (he was my BF at the time). And I actually hated it the first time I tried it, I got stuck on a wall.</div><div>
</div><div>But he had made friends in it and really seemed to enjoy it so one day we were out to dinner and I had him really take me through the characteristics of each class. I decided the Paladin sounded good, so he set me up with a trial account on his computer and I really made an effort to try it - and I got so into it that THAT night we went out and I bought the game so I didn't have deal with the trial issues.</div>
  • manda - I'm a cranky old WoW player. I used to lead an MC raid. I still know all the words to MC Raiders (we... ain't... got... no lii-hiiife). I take breaks and come back over and over and every time I do, I get outraged.

Like I always played a lock, and I rolled a new one for funsies to play with Buddy (who has FIVE locks), and immediately put my first 5 points into improved corruption, for instant corruption, NOT EVEN NOTICING that corruption had already been instant.

IN MY DAY, CORRUPTION HAD A CAST TIME!

And I have never - NEVER - forgiven Buddy for BUYING his Dreadsteed. I went to Dire Maul for that shiz! HE HAS A FUAXSTEED AND I REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE IT.

Anyway, I get all het up and wrankly (I just had to make up a word, that's how bad it is) about all of the changes, and feel like I'm yelling at kids to get off my lawn.

HUNTER PETS DIDN'T ALL USED TO HAVE THE SAME STATS!

Arrghghhhh. I don't know how some of you long time players are HANDLING this!

  • I hear ya TJ. Everytime they make a change (mounts at 20?? WHAT?!) I get furious. But I love my friends on there too much to stop playing.

And OMFG in an unrelated note, I just got a call from my husband that he's headed home a day early and if he doesn't have cheesesteaks I will not let him in the house.
  • Oh and to answer "why did you start playing?" : My husband travels on business. A lot. Like 75% of the month sometimes. So we started playing WoW so we could still do something together even if he's in Vegas and I'm in DC.

My half-sister got me started.  It was initially just an excuse to get to spend some time together and develop a common interest, since we weren't raised together and were only starting to get to know each other at the time.  Eventually, I made other friends in-game -- including my fiance, who I met in Heroic Underbog.

These days, I play more for the people than for the game itself.  I've met some awesome people through my guild; some of them are even coming to my wedding!  If it weren't for them, I'm sure I'd have given it up by now.
    image
  • I invited four people from the guild to our wedding. The only reason they didn't come is that they live in Seattle and the wedding was in South Carolina. I'm so incredibly stoked that we're going to Seattle in June so I can finally "meet" them!
