Postcard Invitations?

I am looking into utilizing a larger postcard style invitation.  Is it inappropriate to expect RSVPs to be done online or via email to a point of contact?

I want this to be very classy but inexpensive and am just wondering if anyone has ideas, places to refer me for ideas, or suggestions regarding a post card invitiation!

Thanks!

Re: Postcard Invitations?

  • Postcards can only be up to about 4x6 inches, I think. I'm not sure that's enough space to get all your information (invitation, reception info, accommodations/directions if you need them) onto just one side of the card so that the address can be on the other side.

I think it would be better for you to use regular invitations in a envelope. It's fine to include an email address or phone number rather than a response card.

Postcard invitation with phone or email RSVP sound cheap, not "classy." I get wanting to be frugal but even the DIY printable kits from Michael's for 8.99/box are better than that.
  • You can use the VP notecards for an even cheaper option than their invites. We're using postcards for RSVP's, but we don't have a wedding website and we have several enclosures so we'll need something with an envelope. Totally agree about never paying full price there - we've have $120 to use there so far that we've paid $22 for from Groupon and Living Social deals.

We had 100 STD postcards and 25 flyers printed in full color and shipped for around $23.

  • I'd avoid this due to the possibility of wear and tear on the cards that makes the invitation text illegible.
