Snarky Brides

Morning SB!

How's everyone doing today?  I'm back to my normal routine of waking up at 6.  I actually already cleaned the bathroom (scrubbed the shower/bathtub, toilet, and floor) so I'm hoping the rest of the day is as productive.

I need to head to Target (hopefully as soon as it opens) to pick up the pictures I sent to get printed and some frames.... as well as some boxes and wrapping paper.  We're heading back across the WI border today to meet my mom and siblings for a mini-birthday celebration. :)

What's everyone else up to today?

Re: Morning SB!

  • Hi! I'm here. I'm supposed to go to a girls' lunch today, but I don't really want to go. Other than that, I just need to finish laundry and run to the grocery store.

Matt and I went and saw Due Date last night. It was hilarious.

    Whose birthday is it?
  • Good Morning!

I spent yesterday cleaning and running errands...we now have: clean dishes, sheets, towels, clothing, kitchen, bathrooms, floors and a christmas tree.

Today I want to wrap what presents we do have and continue to pray that the last two will arrive by fedex tomorrow. We have a Christmas party this afternoon/evening and church this morning...that's about it!

Tomorrow we leave on our one night mini-moon...that's what I am really focused on!
  • Where are you going on your one night mini moon?
  • Hi Ladies! Glad someone else is awake as early as me :)

Cew- yesterday (18th) was my youngest brother who's now 13... today is my mom's, and tomorrow is my other brother, who's turning 16.
  • Wow! Happy birthday to all those people!
  • ha, yeah... December is quite the celebration month for us.  March is the other half... 10th, 20th, 30th for my step dad, me, my sister.

alright ladies! I'm out to run to Target and wrap some presents before we head out at 10.

Have fun on your mini-moon, Numbers!
  • We are going to the winery district that is about an hour and a half away...we are going to have lunch at a winery, buy some wine, then go into the village area, walk a round a bit, get a couples massage at the spa in our hotel, have dinner and then have breakfast in bed the next day. Nothing exciting but our room is lovely, it has a fireplace and a large whirlpool bathtub.

The whole thing will last about 24 hours but it is all we can swing right now. We are hoping for a weeklong trip somewhere warm in March but haven't figured that out yet so this is our 'just in case it never happens trip'!
  • Morning, ladies.  H and I are going to a friend's for dinner tonight.  I'm pretty excited.

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010

    Have fun at Target, Steph.

B! You're the coolest person I know. Just thought you should know that.
  • Aww thanks, Cew.  I super big <3 you.

  • Happy Mini Moon Number!

    Enjoy dinner B!

Even though you are already gone, happy WI trip Steph! I did not know Target was open already-makes sense with the holidays. We were there for three hours yesterday I am still in a Target coma.

We are off to see a dog today. H had the idea of getting another rescue Pom just yesterday. I saw Ruby  on Pet Finder and we are going to meet her at Petco. She is like Tori-a seven year old rescue Pom. Not sure what the organizations adoption policies are - if they require a home visit or they let you take the dog home with a home visit later if they are satisfied with meeting you.  We will see - also obviously if Tori has a bad reaction to her or vice versa at the Petco we can't do it. I think it will be okay, though. Excited!

Also (sorry to brag yet again!) I am down 8 pounds in two weeks and plenty excited about it! I have a long way to go but I know I will get there!
  • Good morning! I'm baking cookies today. Our office holiday party is on Tuesday so I've got to bake and decorate. Don't know what else is on our plates. Hopefully nothing! :-)

  • Good morning ladies.

Steph-have a nice party, but as long as you're cleaning you can visit me!

Today is baking day, I have to make cookies and cupcakes for our office party, and the girls at the hair salon.

Yesterday we had a beautiful hawk in the woods beside us, we watched him for about an hour until he swooped down into the water, grab something and flew away.

Lenore- congrats on the weight loss!

  • goood morning! sounds like everyone has a fantastic Sun planned.  The most productive thing on my schedule is my shower and church.  Then a whole lot of nothingness! Its gong to be fantastic.

  • Morning! I'm up early (for me) today and I'm doing a little job searching while I wake up.  Then I'm working out, and wrapping presents while I watch the Packer game, and when FI gets home from work we'll finish decorating the tree finally.  And I'll whine about the fact that we're getting MORE SNOW the whole time, I'm sure.

  • Thanks B, JK, and KD. I thought about waiting 'til "after the holidays" but truth be told that nearly always turns into "until spring" when you live in a frozen tundra like this. Looking down the long abyss of the rest of the winter post New Years is a tougher time to start changing eating or exercise habits than any other, I think. That, and I think if I can take on these giant holiday buffet tables we keep running into with inhaling food mindlessly, the rest is a breeze!
  • Morning. I just got back from my mom's and am exhausted. We were up until 2 or so playing Apples to Apples with the family (it gets pretty heated, but in a fun way) and had to be up early to make it back here. H and I have to go get some parts for his truck. Then I get to clean, yay.

  • I LOVE Apples to Apples!

  • Good Morning.

I'm preparing to make a big 'ol omelette with bacon and then spend the rest of the day baking holiday goodies.

  • anna can I come to your house?

I will clean and even mix some cookie dough!

  • KRINGLE OMG I MISS KRINGLE.  Do you make REAL kringle?  What kind of kringle do you make?  Will you send me some kringle?  My hometown is one of the only places in the US you can get real Danish kringle.

  • Congrats on the weightloss Lenore, and the mini-moon Number!

Anna, that kringle (not sure what it is) looks really delicious!

I just got back from the grocery store, which was strangely deserted. Now I've got to go do all my Christmas shopping. Is it bad that I'm using wedding gift cards for Christmas shopping?

  • J- If you're where I think you are, one of my coworkers is from the same town... and always brings back Kringle when he goes home. :) mmm

So I'm back. I got to Target at 8:07 and already had to park in the back of the lot... blah.  Somehow my 'quick trip' turned into $100... not bad for 12 8x10 photos and frames though! and of course some clearance Christmas candy.

Congrats Lenore!  I did the same thing. I decided to join WW this coming week so I wouldn't slack too much during the holidays.

  • Best wishes with the WW, Steph I hear good things about it.

Anna, I baked myself into holiday comas for so long I burned out on most of it. I don't even like making cookies now-and do it only by special request but I do admire even just looking at other people's fine work (and felt weirdly bad about messing up the picture-perfection by eating it, because I know how much WORK goes into the fancy stuff).

Oh, and thanks Steph and Sarah.
  • Steph - I am jealous of your enthusiasm today, I need some!.

Lenore - How the hell do you do it?!?

Today we are going to a house warming party, I finally have a Sunday off!

Being unemployed, it gives me an outlet for my idle hands and something to take a bit of pride in.
  • Lastnight was our work christmas party and it was absolutely hilarious. I sat with one of the more boisterous girls and we laughed ALL NIGHT. Everyone probably things I was drunk but I really wasnt, we just had so much fun. It was probably the most involved christmas party ive ever been to - my work hosted this HUGE thing where all of our clients had their work christmas parties so there were 4-500 people there. There was a commedian and a circus act and it was pretty awesome. So, needless to say im tired right now.
