Reception Help!

Hi Everyone,

We are on a very tight wedding budget.  We've decided to save some money and have our wedding reception at the church we will be married in, but in a different building.  It's very pretty and perfect for us, but the church doesn't allow dancing or of course, alcohol.  Any ideas of how to make it a fun event for people?!  We don't want our guests to become bored and leave after only an hour...

We have 300 guests, at least....

Also, the wedding is at 2pm on a Saturday with the reception immediately following.

Please share your ideas with me :)

    The reality is that a daytime wedding without alcohol or dancing is going to be pretty low-key and shorter than an evening wedding with alcohol and dancing.

    Have some good music, lots of seating, high-top tables and low tables and lots of chairs and lots of food.  People will chit chat, take photos,and mingle. 

    If you wanted something "extra" you could do a photobooth (professional or DIY) or hire a caricaturist.
