Nates- I lived in Idaho for 6 years (2000-2006) and that is where I first had Sonic. H is from MN and didn't try it until we got one down the street from us about a year or 2 ago and I don't remember what he didn't like about it but he never wants to go. It is definitely nom though
J&K- I hate the commercials for things we don't have here. Even before the Sonic was up here I remember seeing commercials. I love Red Robin, and we have one here, but H hates that too. Seriously I think there is something wrong with him.
That's what happened here, J. No Sonic commercials, so the first time I ever saw one was in IN and I was amazed. It was like when a mysterical creature you've heard about, but ever seen, just wanders in and spreads some awesomeness in your life.
Alyssa--no In and Outs. We made sure to check it out when we went to CA.
Ugh, Kayla, I know--I've been seeing Sonic commercials forEVER (I'm originally from Wisconsin, and there aren't any there either). The one up in the cities is only a few years old, right? Because I clearly remember looking when I was in college and being irritated that there weren't any but we were still subjected to the awful commercials.
Nates - what did you think? I'm sorry but IMO In'N'Out blows Sonic out of the water! I couldn't live without a monthly dose of animal fries and a neopolitan shake
I got SO PISSED at my parents when they took FI and I out to the Grand Canyon and Vegas for our graduation present and we could have eaten at a Sonic and instead we went to a stupid diner that was just like Denny's or Perkins. I WAS SO PISSED. I still hold a grudge. STILL. I might always.
(even though I've now been to a Sonic and know that I'm missing nothing but delicious cherry limeade because I was totally unimpressed)

Yeah J, the one in St. Paul has been there for a few years I think. The one by us opened in Summer of 2009 if I remember correctly. H is boring when it comes to food. I like the gourmet aspect of the burgers and he would rather just have a patty, cheese, and some condiments. It's unfortunate.
ETA- I meant the gourmet burgers at Red Robin. Sonic is not gourmet haha.

I ate a chocolate covered cricket once. Never again will I say that I'll eat anything if it's covered in chocolate.
But that's still not so weird.
Um, LUTEFISK. OH MY GOD DON'T DO IT. I'd rather eat chocolate covered crickets every day for the rest of my life than eat lutefisk again.

Nates, I think they like to get people all hot and bothered before they come so that when they finally go there, it's SOOOOO hyped up that people think they need to keep going back even though the food's not that good. That's my theory.

Even though I like Sonic, I agree. We didn't go to the one by our place for 3 or 4 months because it was constantly packed. No matter when we drove by it there were 10-15 cars in the drive thru and lines for the stalls.

When Sonic finally opened here, the cops had to do traffic detail on the highway for MONTHS because it was so insanely busy. It was so obnoxious.
