Save the Date Question

When you recieve a save the date which do you prefer, a magnet or a card? I'm wondering if it is worth it for the extra money for the magnet or if it really doesn't matter.

I was also torn, but we got a living social for Vista Print for $10 for $50. So with that we were able to spend a little more money for the magnets.

We got two save the date magnets from others' weddings. My father made the point that if it's magnets, it's less likely to get thrown away, fall off the refrigerator, etc.

I would keep an eye out for living social/groupons to save some $$. Women are always posting on the budget board and this board.

If it's a cute STD then I'd keep it on the fridge regardless.

If it's a magnet, I'll probably even keep it after the wedding (I still have a friend's magnet STD from her July wedding).

I like both but I do have a friends still on my refrig and she was married last April. It holds things! We bought our invites from this site and at the checkout basket, they have magnets for about $50 for 100.

Card; save your money.

I'll admit it, I through away all STD magnets, even my best friends. I just don't care for magnets on my fridge.

It doesn't matter to me. I'll put both on my fridge, so I'd say save your money and do a card. Plus a lot of people have stainless steel fridges now which aren't magnetic.

I was going to get the regular cards, but my bridesmaids talked me into getting the magnets, and they are pretty fun. Everyone who's gotten one said they were such a great idea. You can get them at Michael's craft stores (do they have those in the states?) for $12 for a 30 pack. They're blank too, but you can download templates or make your own.

Thanks ladies for all the feedback and suggestions. It definitely gives me a bit to think about before I decide this weekend.

abcollins, thanks for pointing that out about stainless fridges. It hadn't even crossed my mind.
