I have arthritis in my left knee. I go on walks to start my workout routine but I also want to do other exercises to help me lose weight and get toned up; especially in my thighs, legs, butt, and tummy. I can't run, because it starts to hurt immediatly, it hurts to bend down so I'm limited to exercises. Any suggestions?

When I initally went to rehab/therapy for my knee -- my dr made me ride a stationary bike, use the elipitcal -- both very low impact to your knees. He also made me do leg presses to work on strenghting it...and we're not talking light weight leg presses -- I was doing 180 lb presses when I was about 130 lbs.
