TGIF

Morning everyone! I'm so glad this week just flew by.  I decided to skip my workout this morning because yesterday and the day before I was getting a little dizzy towards the end of my workouts, which I'm guessing is my body's way of telling me to take a break.

FI has a bunch of guy friends coming into town tomorrow for the night, and N was going to come up with her husband (the girl that was a huge biitch to me a couple months ago) so we could have a girls night and she could get to "know" me better, and we were going to hang out with M as well. But oh, magically when M had other plans come up, N no longer is able to come up and had a slew of lame excuses.  Can't say I'm all that surprised.

I feel bad because I don't want to impede on the boys night, but I have nowhere to go lol.  I offered to be their DD if they want, otherwise I'll just stay home when they go out.

Have a great day/weekend everyone!

Re: TGIF

  • I would probably stay home and do my own thing.  Actually, I know that's what I'd do.  I would enjoy some nice alone time.

Anyway, good morning!  Thank goodness it's Friday.  I feel like this week took it's sweetass time to get here. Today is my last Friday at my current job, next Friday is when I start my new one.  We have a departmental celebration planned this afternoon to celebrate all of the individual accomplishments of people in the department.  I was asked by our department chair to make sure I'm there.  I hope it isn't awkward...

    Have a great day, ladies!

  • I'd stay home as well. Maybe do a little self pampering?

I agree, this week dragged despite me being really busy at work.

I can tell Spring is here because our weekends are starting to get packed. We're going to a food truck gathering tonight that benefits the SPCA. It should be a lot of fun with good food. There are a few trucks that don't come by my work that5 I have been wanting to try.

Tomorrow I have to clean and do errands and then my sister is staying with us. Sunday I have to take her to see our venue, get her to the airport by 11:30, and then go to a friend's birthday brunch. I am going to need an extra day off to recover!

Im in a pissy mood in anticipation for work. Work sucked yesterday and I know its going to carry over into today. They want to transition me into the new tasks i am taking on but I have been swamped with the old tasks and I feel like people dont believe im busy and think im just making up excuses but I have been REALLY busy and it annoys me to have people come up to me 3-4 times a day "when are you going to finally have time to do..." IM FUCKING TRYING!!!@!

Also, Im just going to make a doctors appointment today even though i know it will be a waste of time. Im getting really fed up with my weight. I count my calories, I weigh and measure all of my food, I dont eat out or eat a lot of junk food, I eat well. I work out 4 days a week and burn roughly 400+ calories and I lift weights. My weight has not gone down in 2 months. Ive been doing it for about 2 months now. My measurements have also not really changed much at all either. Im sick of it. If anyone else were to do this, theyd be down tons of weight by now, but I am not and thats bullshit. I want my doctor to find out what is wrong with me, not brush off my concerns, and fucking FIX me. I know this isnt normal. Its not.

I am also pissy about that. Sorry for being soooo negative again. Blah.

I dont honestly even know what an endowhatever is, ive never heard the word until here. I will probably have to talk to my doctor about it and get a referral I suppose cause this aint right. lol what is it exactly.
  • morning,

Woo Hoo it's Friday. I can't wait to get some extra sleep this weekend.

Sorry to bring baby talk into the morning thread, but I have a question for the moms and mom to bes. This is also likely a P&R because I have a meeting in a couple of mins. I had my first u/s yesterday and the tech said "uhm, for right now we're going to say it's one" then the dr. came in to confirm (the tech stayed in the room so they didn't talk prior to him coming in) and he said wow congrats, mom. So I asked him if it was just one and his response was "well I think for right now we are going to say it's just one." WTF does that mean? did anyone else get an iffy answer to the question "it's just one right?"

Nebb, I believe it has to do with how all of the different hormones work together in different systems in your body.  I know H sees an endocrinologist when his doctor wants him on steroids.  I think a big focus is metabolism but don't hold me to any of that (well aside the steroids part, I know that part because of H ha).

ETA:  Also, the main reason H sees an endocrinologist is to work out a plan for his weight.  His plan is for weight GAIN, but I'd imagine that if they focus on weight gain, they also focus on weight loss.  So, I'd agree with DJ that it's probably a good place to start.

  • Morning, all.

I'm working from home today because I've got a doctor's appointment and a bunch of stuff to do before we leave tomorrow. I worked til 10:30 last night so that I could get ahead today, but I'm afraid that my productivity last night won't help me too much today. Boo.

H is also home today trying to get our last minute stuff done, but he's making me insane. As much as I love the guy, travelling with him makes me want to kick things.
  • Aw Nebb, I hope work today is not bad.  How is the new BBQ?

Re: weight loss and that stuff, I know numbers and I have had great success w/ Leigh Peele (mind you, neither of us have struggled with the issues you're dealing with) but she seriously knows her shiit.  It might be worth paying for a phone consult.

I'm glad it's Friday, but sad that H will be gone tonight.  He's framing a basement with his BFF tomorrow, even though they're sort of on rocky terms right now.  I think I'll slowly try and get work done around the house tonight.  There is a LOT to be done, and we're running out of weekends!

  • dmill, there was never any doubt about how many I had, but I didn't get my first u/s until 12 weeks.  I know a girl on my board had a vanishing twin.  It showed up on earlier u/s but didn't grow and was eventually absorbed.

  • Good morning ladies!

I unknowingly used the last k-cup yesterday, so I had no coffee on the way to work this morning, so I was a bear when I first got in. I loaded up my yoga mat, and headed outside for a nice morning yoga session. It was still dark when I started doing my sun salutations, but by the time I got to my standing balance poses and went into tree pose, the sun peeked over the horizon and it was so beautiful. I'm such a nerd, I kept thinking "It's a beautiful day, the sun just woke up, and I'm a tree" haha. I'm in a much better mood now.

Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny, hardly any clouds and in the high-80s, so I will most definitely be spending some time poolside drinking Miller Lite and eating Doritos while reading a book.

I got an iffy answer at my first u/s, and I still don't have an answer. At 7 weeks, it's hard to confirm twins without an internal u/s because the babies are so small that one can sort of hide behind the other. My one vs two question will be answered in two weeks, I hope. You can always ask for an internal u/s if you're concerned, though. For me, I'd not be SO surprised if I had twins. There are six sets of them on my mom's side (within two generations) so...I'm prepared. ;)
  • Morning, everyone.

Today I'm just going to straighten up my house a bit and go over my FIL's for dinner - I think FMIL is making lasagna. I'm going to enjoy it now because I'm going to go on a diet in April.

Chelsea - When I was going to the gym, I had the same thing happen... The personal trainer told me it was because I was over-doing it (I went from no exercise to 30+ minutes on the treadmill).

  • Morning!

I'm still in a Benadryl coma... so today is going to be awesome.  I got attacked by mosquitos the other night at the gym.  Whenever I get bit by mosquitos (regardless of whether I itch or not) the bites turn into enormous welts and I feel really sick.  It's a wonderful reaction.  I want to take more Benadryl but with a busy day ahead I have to be semi-alert ;)
  • I am at work miserable. I didn't get any coffee. FI is gone on his bachelor party trip for 4 days I miss him. I have a UTI and the pain meds are not working today. I slept like crap. All I want to do is get into comfy pants crawl back into bed. I needed to get that out. Done whining :

  • Morning, TGIF!

I wish I could get into yoga like that, Mehg. I have a few yoga DVDs and when I do them, I enjoy them, but it's a miracle to get myself to do them.

I'm leaving early today to get HH with my FI, his mom, and his grandma. I'm pretty excited, and then we are going home to grill up bacon wrapped filet mignon, potatoes, and asparagus, with spin dip as an app and homemade key lime pie as dessert! YUM

  • Good morning. I am not wanting to be at work today. Ugh, it's so slow going, and I don't have a day off again until Tuesday. I want to see the HUnger Games tonight but H won't go unless I have reserved seating and that's almost $20 per seat. I'm wondering how long I can hold out before I crack and buy the tickets. I might just wait until tomorrow when the hype dies down. Then again, that might not be for a while because we can only go in the evening.

  • I love all these SB babies popping up! There's going to be an influx of cute over the next several months.  And it's probably giong to give me baby fever again.

I agree, I think I'll stay in regardless.  They weren't going to have me as a DD originally, so I'm sure they can figure something out.  I cannot remember the last time I stayed in for an evening by myself.. so I guess that's a sign of what I need to do :)
  • Dmills- I had my first at 10 weeks and because of some issues, I had to get an internal u/s. there was no doubt there was one. When is your next u/s? Do twins run in the family? Morning everyone! We have H's boat party tonight for off crew. Hopefully I'll be able to meet some people that have similar interests as me. So far, I've met a few women who just are a lot different Than i am. We have nothing in common and it's starting to become lonely down here. Especially because H deploys soon.

I've heard that twins can hide behind each other, causing the doctor to second guess. I've also heard of people being told it's probably twins and it turns out to be one baby.

Thanks guys, i am pretty convinced it must be a hormone/metabolism issue. Ive struggled with this for years but this is the worst its been and I dont know if having gone off the pill and gaining a shitton of weight, being told I have PCOS and going back on the pill, has had something to do with it? The couple times ive had bloodwork done, my doc has said my thyroid is fine, so maybe its fine by one standard but not "really" fine. Its not freaking normal to work out this much and this hard and have nothing happen. Its depressing because I see people do less and they lose weight. Its making me think im crazy, like maybe I am not doing the things I think I am doing but I have a HRM and track everything I eat (even bad things).

Raynes - I dont think at this point talking on the phone will be helpful, I need a medical professional to do tests and figure out wtf is wrong with me.
