I know I'm completely late but I FINALLY rented it.  Day by myself $1, I made the choice.

While it was very interesting and intriguing it was equally disturbing and I left feeling, so what REALLY happened and what didn't.

    YES. I agree 100%. I want to know more about the crazy cakes mom, too.

    I must have somehow missed a lot, because I didn't even see her steal the diamond ear rings, just the lipstick. WTF? Was that just me?

    I remember she just kinda swiped the whole counter of stuff she wanted.  But the whole hospital scene with the nail file.  Did.Not.Understand.

    OMG, the bedroom scene when Nina realizes her weirdo mom is sleeping in a chair!?!?  Holyshiz.

    The mom was totally weird. Like, when she was insisting on undressing Nina when she came home from that gala, or whatever. I think the viewers might have benefitted from some back story on Nina and her problems earlier on in the movie.
