St. Louis Hotel Brides

I went for a tasting today - love Racheal & everything went well, BUT

They no longer have the chiavari chairs they formally used in weddings. The new chairs look more appropriate for a conference - not exactly what I had invisioned on my wedding day :(

We considered the St. Louis hotel for a reception location and room blocks, so we decided to stay there one night.  Maybe it was a bad night, but they lost our reservation, and it took them about 20 minutes to figure it out.  Then, when we checked into our room, the headboard for the bed had fallen off of the wall and was lying on the bed.  Also, the setup of the room was very odd.  We got a new room that wasn't that bad, but not an experience I would want my guests to have.  Maybe it was a bad night, but something to consider.

This makes me nervous....I have my wedding booked there for 4/2011.  It is a destination wedding so I haven't even seen the venue other then pictures.  Can you at least tell me that it looks as pretty in the picture as it is in person?

Wow - sorry, not what I meant to start on here! We have stayed there 4 times now, and it's been great. I have read the google reviews of the hotel, but honestly my fiance & I stayed there back in 2007 to go to Celebration in the Oaks. We ended up walking by the 2nd floor right as a wedding was going on, and I knew right then that was the only place! I had never actually pictured getting married to anyone until that moment. I know it sounds cheesy, but there was just something about it. We LOVE the Prince Conti, so we got room blocks there as well.

I actually have spoken with quite a few brides that had their wedding there and got room blocks other places (usually most expensive, though). I'm sorry you had that experience!

Oh and they ended up agreeing to rent the chiavari chairs for me! They are very responsive, so I don't think you should have a problem. PM me if you want more info or have specific questions. Any yes, it is just as pretty in person IMO!
