ditto this^^^ except replace "asleep" with "puking"
I had friends who had theirs made into capsules to consume for a while afterward. I don't know anyone who did placenta lasagna or anything. I would have liked to bury it under a tree (we do have trees for both kids), but we forgot to ask.
H knew a woman at his last job who asked for them to help train cadaver dogs. I can't imagine how that conversation goes ... "Hey! Congrats on the pregnancy! If you aren't using the placenta afterward, could I have it when you're done?"

^^^this...Except my ladybits were being stitched up because of my kid's ginormous head.
A lady on pregnant and heels are part of her placenta, in a smoothie. Her husband also wanted her to give birth by simply grabbing onto a tree and pushing. I filed those folks under 'weird.'
I am all for the old school twighlight sleep where you wake up with the baby.
I've been watching baby story on TLC in the morning, and every episode makes me want an epidural just for watching.
I bet freezer meals were tons of fun at the divorced lady house. Mmmmmm roast beef. Noooooot exactly....btw this is the thing that drove me kinda batty with Bradley classes. Athough nobody in our class saved it for anything.
