True Blood!

Anyone else watch it last night?

Loved Sookie's "new" look, and I really hoped that Eric's dream was real.

Re: True Blood!

  • I thought she looked great, too! Have you read the books? I know if Eric's dream will come true or not! LOL! Of course, the books and show are VERY different now (ie, in the books Layfayette is killed of in the beginning and I LOVE him in the show!)
  • I'm pretty sure Eric was just daydreaming, but yeah, I still want him and Sookie to hook up. And I loved her new look too, she's hilarious when acting like someone else (the whole downing drinks thing had me laughing).

I don't get the Franklin and Tara thing. It seems so rushed and out of place. They sleep together once now he wants to turn her (per the previews)? Did I miss something?

I'm seriously hating Lorena. I hope they kill her off soon, she is starting to turn into a Maryanne-type character that they play out until the very end. I don't want to watch any scene she's in, she annoys the hell out of me. Oh, and when Bill called Sookie DH and I just looked at each other and DH was like, "Dude, WTF? That was seriously harsh."
  • Last night was entertaining. I'm pretty sure the Eric daydream will eventually come true, which makes me a happy bunny. Bill's a biitch. And ditto Seshat on Lorena. She's whiny. I hate her. I kind of hate Tara too. She just complains incessantly about the misery that has been her life. Get the hell over it.

  • Yeah... I knew Eric was just daydreaming, but I was still holding out hope for it to be real.  I also love when she acts like someone else.  I think Anna Paquin is such a good actress in this series, too.

I HATE the Lorena story right now.  I remember her from the books, but I don't remember her having this hugh of a role... you're right, Sheshat, she is becoming a Maryanne-type character.  I also hated Maryanne's involvement all last season, too.  I hope they don't keep her character going much longer.  I'm also not a fan of exorcism-style sex, either, so I could do without anymore Bill/Lorena sex.

I'm not sure about the Franklin thing either. I don't like it though.

  • I think Bill is being harsh to protect Sookie.  He doesn't want her to come find him or make her think they have a future.  It's not like he loves Lorena or anything.  He wants her dead.  So do I  ;)

Why is Tara the one who is always getting bamboozled (for lack of a better word) by the bad guys?  Anybody else find that odd?  It's annoying.

  • Ditto kittykaz, Bill is trying to protect Sookie. He's done that stuff before.

I think they'll play out the Lorena thing, besides the whole V investigation, there really isn't a whole lot of drama for Bill. She has something to do with all of that, I'm sure. Didn't she say last season when she left Bill about making sure that he comes back to her?

I don't like the Franklin/Tara thing either. They need to get rid of Tara, her damsel in distress thing is old.

I was so disappointed that the Eric and Sookie scene turned out to be a daydream!  It was an obvious nod to the books, though, since in Club Dead Eric visits Sookie in Jackson by hovering outside of Alcide's window.

I love that whenever Sookie dreams about Eric -- and now, when Eric daydreams about Sookie -- it isn't just about sex; it's about friendship and love, too.  I enjoy them together in the books, and I think Anna Paquin and Alexander Skarsgard have fantastic chemistry on screen... even more than Anna and Stephen Moyer, which is funny since they're engaged IRL!

I think I'm ready for the V related subplots to be over.  There's been one every season and it's old now.  I'm also tired of Tara.  I'd like her character to either evolve or die.  But getting rolled by each season's Big Bad?  Boring.

Oh, I agree with those who said that Bill is being a jerk to Sookie to protect her.  When he sensed her in danger at the werewolf bar, he want all rawr! for a second there and you could just tell he wanted to rush off to her rescue.  I think he truly loves her and is doing the best he can to shelter her from his world.  He'd just rather she was heartbroken than dead, whereas she wants the freedom to make her own choices (although not in a creepy Bella I'd-die-if-it-meant-I-could-have-delusions-of-your-voice-just-one-more-time kind of a way.  Sookie's sense of self preservation is stronger than her love for Bill -- or Eric, for that matter.)
