Music for Ceremony on the Beach

Hello,

Does anyone have any suggestions for music on the beach? I've talked to our potential DJ who doesn't think he can help due to the fact there would be no electricity. I'm thinking we have to go acoustic which would be perfect... does anyone have someone they would recommend? I'm looking for more contemporary music!

Well, I would decide what kind of sound you want and go from there. Do you want an acoustic guitar? Do you want a quartet of brass, wind, or strings? There's a bit more you decide upon before much can be sent your way without sending you on a wild goose chase and you end up with what you didn't want.

Best for our theme and atmosphere, I'm looking for a guitarist! Doesn't matter if they can sing or not... guess it would of helped if I had put that initially, huh? Thanks!

When I was looking for musicians, I checked on the local craigslist. I saw a couple of listings for a guitarist, and you can contact a few for audition selections from them and decide from there who you like the most.

Also, you could try posting at a college or university's music department or even calling the music department directly.

Sorry, but you'll probably have to put a bit of work into this as the board isn't that active, for one, and second, I can't recall anyone that has used an acoustic guitarist. You make it sound that you're being picky about who it is, when in reality, you're being kind of lazy and letting someone else do the work for you. Honestly, it is not that difficult to look on craigslist to find a guitarist. Trust me. I did it from Italy, you can do it from Michigan.
