Ceremony Decor - sorry to hijack! (PIPs)

So, Mrs. Boss posted a ceremony decor question, and I wanted to get some opinions too. I am sorry to be a hijacker.

We're getting married at a public park that overlooks the ocean. The central part of the park is the "Korean Friendship Bell," but our plan is to actually have the ceremony facing away from the bell so that the ocean is behind us. I am not sure how to decorate. On the one hand, I don't want to overdo it because we don't want to take away from the scenery, on the other, I don't want it to look bare.  Here's an example of a ceremony at the same site...

And here's a bigger of the picture of the park altogether.  The bell will be behind the guests (I'll probably enter by coming down the stairs)

I was thinking maybe we'd have some kind of arch (like a mini chuppah or something), and definitely a cool aisle runner.  And some sort of table for a sand ceremny... Our planner was thinking that the aisle runner was enough though, but it seems bare to me...

The pictures look small to me right now; hopefully they come out bigger in the post... Do you ladies have any suggestions?

  • I just want to say gorgeous ceremony site! I agree that you should keep it simple. It's such a breathtaking view! What are your colors by the way? Just want to see if I would suggest something based on your color scheme.

  • will the chairs be the same?

  • Yes! I'm renting the chairs from the same place as in the ceremony that I posted. I really like the arch in the pic you posted. The guy from the rental place said that he just had a new one built and will send me photos. The site is always very windy, so we can't do petals on the ground though...
  • Oh... our colors are eggplant, orange and yellow...
  • How about using ties in your colors and tying them on the chairs on maybe just tying them on planter hooks with your aisle with pomander balls at the beginning and end of your aisle.

  • Those are nice... Don't know if I like the colored chairs or not, but definitely the ties in the wedding colors. Thanks!
  • Girl don't worry about hijacking! These ladies have ideas out the yingyang! Lol clearly I'm lost on decor but your site looks beautiful!

  • Aww.. thanks! We really lucked out to get a public park with that view!
  • Your venue is breathtaking. I love the idea of incorporation ties, ribbons, or flowers in your colors tied to the end of the chairs on the aisle.

    Without the petals.

You could also incoporate your colors with vases down the aisle

I love the idea of colored vases!  That would so, so pretty.
