Son of a biscuit!!!

Our rehearsal dinner count was right at 25, with 5 of those being small children.  How perfect to find a caterer whose a la carte pans serve 25, right?  Enough wiggle room with the 5 little ones in case someone was extra hungry, but not a ton of leftovers to worry about, since it's a destination wedding and I'd have nowhere to store the extras.

Yeah,  just went to place my order and they now only have pans that feed 16 or pans that feed 40.  Fan-freaking-tastic!  ARRRRRRGH!

  • Can you 0do two of the 16's then thats not too much extra? Sucks it isnt that you plan on, but now that one personw ho really wants thirds (cause the food is gonna be just that good!) can without you worrying about if theres enough!

  • So they used to have pans to feed 25 people? If so, shouldn't they still have the recipe to feed that many people...and can use the 40 person pan? That's pretty convenient that they don't have them any longer... Is it a comprehensive fee with drinks and such, too?

  • No, we're doing offsite catering since the private room was already booked.  It comes with drinks, but we have to supply our own alcohol. 

    Our wedding is very small, and the rehearsal dinner is even smaller.  We don't meet the minimum to order based on the number of people (you need a minimum of 35 to order based on head count), so we have to order a la carte - a pan of each dish we wish to serve.  We can swing the cost, I just don't know what I'm going to do with all the leftover food.  It's not like people will be bringing tupperware in their suitcases, and in-room hotel refrigerators don't hold 15 servings of several different dishes.
