We gave Salty a hard time because she said she went to Europe?

I was just skimming through tripadvisor.com to search reviews of our resort in Orlando, and the one guy (whose location said Wales) commented:

"in all, America is a good place to go on vacation, good value".

Um. America is a biiiiiig place. Idiots.

The US dollar is so cheap right now there are tourists everywhere. I think that's what he meant "good value"

They don't look at Canada as part of "America", though it is part of North America

I'm curious as to what part(s) of America he actually visited. Not that I don't think America is a "great value", I just wonder if people really think if you've seen Michigan you've seen America.

Yeah, last time I went to NYC it was crawling with obnoxious foreign tourists. Two drunk russian girls were taking a picture of a cockroach in the street. It pissed me off...I get almost as defensive about NYC as I do DC.

The tourists in DC can be a little bit clueless sometimes but they're generally pretty nice, families trying to teach their kids about the US, etc. The hordes of middle school kids on bus tours drive me BSC though.

I disagree. Some people definitely look at it as all the same place. But lots of people are freaking clueless about geography. Literally at least half the time people find out I'm South African their next question is, "Oh, which country in South Africa are you from?"

I know what you mean, but his review was like 2 pages of how they went everywhere in Orlando...then said America was a good value for a vacation. It just seemed stupid to me. But, I might be in stupidity overload after reading other reviews.

It amazes me how if people get bad weather, bad service at parks, they manage to rate the hotel lower. Your weather had nothing to do with your hotel!
