Which would YOU rather get?

Re: Which would YOU rather get?

  • I agree with PP. I'm not a huge fan of honeymoon registries. The guests think they're actually buying the couple something specific for their honeymoon, when instead, the couple just gets a check. I think it's very misleading.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Which would YOU rather get? : That's not true for Honeyfund.com. I know because we are using them. They have an option for an upgraded website that you can pay for or you can use the plain regular website for free. The only fees that are taken from the gift are the paypal fees if you decide to pay for the gift that way. If you decide to mail a check or bring a check/cash to the wedding, there is no fee at all. There are other honeymoon registries that do charge a per transaction fee, but honeyfund.com isn't one of them.

Then why bother at all? I'll give you a cheque and in your thank you note you say "oh thanks for the gift. We used it go swimming with dolphins in Aruba".

  • I would maybe bring a small household gift and a small gift off the HM registry or gift card.

  • What if you got her money for the honeymoon fund then got her a really adorable apron and oven mitt from a boutique kind of store??? It could double as "lingerie" lol if you got the right kind!

  • Thanks, everyone, for the feedback! I did end up getting her something off the honeymoon registry ("five drinks"), before you ladies showed me the error of my ways and that they take a fee. What a bummer! Oh well. I think I joked earlier upthread, hope they like the cheap drinks! ;)

I made up a cute little card saying what I got them and picked up a frame at Pier 1, and will give her that. Thanks again! I love my October brides.
