I have to complain about a snow day./FML

So I've been long-term subbing for a teacher who had her knee replaced since October. The way my district's pay scale works, there is a significant increase in pay if you work 45 days or more in a row for the same teacher. Of course, Wednesday was my 44th day.  We had a snow day today, and tomorrow school is canceled because it's too cold for kids to stand at bus stops apparently, and the teacher is coming back on Monday.  I would have gotten almost $2500 in back pay retroactive to when I started.

FML.

What have you all been  up to? I realized a little bit ago that I should have been knotting all day since I wasn't working, but instead I did some decorating/refinishing a chair and posted on the nest D &R too much. I had to come back here for a bit to chat :)

  • You're handling it well, and networking like you should. Way to get out there. You'll do well, I'm sure.

I love you Missy. Even though you are not smart enough to take online quizzes to find out really important information. ~cew
  • My visits to KC were all business related and mostly confined to the plaza area restaurants and a hotel.  I did find it a very pretty and clean city.

city across the river in Kansas, Shawnee Mission sound right?
I would do some meeting there when I was on a road show.  Another nice place but totally different atmosphere
