What's grinding your gears?

Re: What's grinding your gears?

  • I need to be applying for jobs for when we move, but I don't want to write my cover letter. I HATE cover letters.
  • FI is being antisocial and weird today (which is not really new, nor do I normally mind). We went one of my friend's brithday party last night, and I think that put him over his threshold for new people meeting for the week. However, I was invited to a brunch today at my bootcamp trainer's house for an Alzheimer's fundraiser. I kinda wanted to go, but he thought it was just odd to host brunch at one's home as a fundraiser and he was not interested in visiting the abode of someone he doesn't know. I admit that is a little odd that its at his house, but now I am seeing FB posts of bootcamp friends who are hanging out over there and I wish I could be there.

Yes, I could have gone by myself, but I think that would be disrespectful og his feelings. My best friend wanted to go too, but her BF and my FI are similar and neither one of them was comfortable with the idea. I just have a bad feeling that tomorrow morning at our workout, everyone will have little inside jokes that I won't be in on. I know, its irrational...

  • That's awesome, Bex. I love having a dress twin. I love the dress. I had the train removed because I just didn't want to deal with it. I just hope I still fit in to it. :)

Thanks, Mag! I think I had my dress in my bio before I took it down, but you're right, I don't think I've ever talked about it on TK before.

Okay, ladies. I'm off to the office to get some shiit down. Wish me luck.

Cew, it's a very comfortable dress, and I'm proud to be your dress twin. Sometimes I still put it on because I love it so much. Anyway, good luck at work!

The fact that my FI - laid off for the past two years, working many part times to keep up with bills - was up for a teaching job - finally - at the rec. of the principal  -and due to budget cuts in the district, the job is GONE.  My job is laying off most of us teachers (private school) - won't find out for sure in a few weeks.  Might lose the house - looking at canceling the wedding since we now can't afford it, FI has shingles and I have strep throat.

Well, my FI was assaulted yesterday by a neighbour.  So I"ve been at the police station all morning today.  Now I'm trying not to re-live it over and over in my mind.  Police have charged him criminally, and now I have a brand new shiny restraining order against him.  FI and I feel slightly more safe now.

First time in my life I've ever sat in one of those "interview rooms" at the police station.  Hopefully my last.

All of the above seriously impaired my busy knotting schedule for this weekend.

ETA--sorry to hear about your grandfather, Melissa.

[QUOTE]I went to get my hair trimmed and the woman didn't style it or dry it afterward. So I waked home with horrible looking wet hair. It was pretty humiliating, and I'm regretting giving her a tip. My temporary roommate leaves candles on when she leaves the house. Seriously, the den is between my bedroom and my walk-in closet. I would not like either to catch on fire, thanks. Also, he cat is sick and FI is going to end up taking him to the vet and paying for his medical care.

I hate when they do that. I got a cut like that once, and they didn't mention that a blow dry was extra $$$ until I was in the chair with sopping wet hair. So if you have any place important to be after your hair appointment, you're pretty much screwed.

Mery, is this your friend who you took in after she left her abusive bf? How is she doing? Also, sorry your cat is sick. :( Hope he feels better soon!

People that haven't RSVP'd--half the guest list. The RSVP deadline is rapidly approaching (it's tomorrow) and our venue needs to know final counts earlier than most. What is so hard about throwing a card in a stamped and addressed envelope and putting it in the mail box? Every guest got a save the date back in January so it's not like this wedding should be a surprise. SEND BACK YOUR DAMN RSVP CARDS!! The guests have had the invitations for a month now.

FI saying "we have time." No, really, we don't have that much time. We're visiting your grandma one weekend in May, and you ref soccer every Sunday this month, leaving us with exactly three full days together before the wedding. NOT a lot of time.

The thing is, I've been there before and usually drying is included!

Yeah, it's the same friend. She's aiming to move out in July, so not too much longer. She's doing really well! Catching up on her bills from when she lived with him, has money saved for her own place. It's just little things that bother me, like in pretty much any roommate situation and I just have to vent to someone!

It's her cat, Gus,  and Delilah who are sick - FI is with them at the vet now. We just don't know why they keep throwing up. But hopefully it's just a virus, since both are sick.
