Favors

Where do you put your favors???

Hi Knotties!!

So I know this may sound like a stupid question, but at your wedding reception, where exactly do you put your wedding favors for your guests? Should you have them at their table when they walk in for the reception? Or should you have them on a table near the exit so they can just pick one up before they leave? I know it's probably personal preference, but I just wanted to get an idea of where most people put them. THANK YOU!

I am having mine at the table by their place settings. I think it is more personal this way. However I have seen it done both ways. The last wedding I attending, the favors were also the escort cards (all in one). So they located their favor and that brought them to the table.

I guess it just depends on how your favor fits into your decor.

I like them at the place setting or as you exit.

I've seen them on their own table or at place settings.  I prefer at the place settings because they're less likely to be forgotten, and it can dress up your table a bit.

I really wanted something at the place settings so that is what I did and it was also what my venue planner recommended.

Ours are doubling as escort cards-- they will pick up the favor with their table # attached as they enter the reception hall. They will be laid out in alphabetical order on a table with the ushers there to help.

We didn't want to take away from the centerpieces so we were going to make a table of them as people exit... but MOB decided she wanted them by each place setting.  What momma wants, momma gets :)  So we're having them at each place setting, and I actually think it will work out better.

I didn't want them on the table because i didn't want to take away from my centerpieces.  I also didn't want them on a table on the way out because i've heard stories about how some people took more than one and the last few people at the wedding didn't get any.  So I had my waiters and waitresses hand them out as they handed out cake... if they saw someone leaving before that, they gave each person one.

depends on your type of wedding. If its a full sit down dinner (which it sounds like it is) then I would prefer it at each place setting, that way you know each person is getting on. If its a cocktail then obviously they would be by the door. I have been to both types and for the sitdown ones I always took the favors but for the cocktail one it was a candy bar and by the end of the night I was tired and totally forgot to grab a bag of candy, I was more concerned about getting home then the favors.

My homemade Jelly Gifts from Spoonfull of Jelly were handed out to guests as the last song was played. The reception staff were glad to pass them out. Ask your reception place if they would do the same.
