Ft. Lauderdale/Miami honeymoon

My fiance and I are trying to plan our honeymoon in Florida.  We will be taking a road trip to Florida.  We are first stopping in Ft. Myers Beach, then in Key West.  On the way back, we were thinking of stopping in Ft. Lauderdale.  We will be traveling the end of Sept/early October.

Can anyone give me hotel recommendations?  Also, what things should we see/do there?  Any resturant recommendations?

I know Ft. Lauderdale is close to Miami too, which we're interested in visiting.  Any Miami suggestions woudl be appreciated too.

Thanks!

Here are some hotel suggestions you can check out:

As far as what to do.....I couldn't really tell you since I'm not familiar with the area, sorry.
  • If you want a Fort Lauderdale hotel, we always stay at the Hampton Inn Fort Lauderdale Downtown City Center ( http://www.hamptoninnftlauderdale.com/It is close by Las Olas - where the bars, shops and restaurants are.
If you want Miami, there is the brand new Hampton Inn & Suites Miami Brickell Downtown (http://www.hamptoninnmiamibrickell.com/). The hotel is a block away from the metromover station (free monorail that goes around downtown Miami) that has a station at the Bayside MarketPlace (http://www.baysidemarketplace.com/) that is tourist open mall by the bay and one block from Mary Brickell Village (http://www.marybrickellvillage.com/) where you go to eat and play in downtown.
  • I like the Hampton Inn Fort Lauderdale Downtown City Center too, if you stay in Fort Lauderdale. There is a ton of things to see... The most popular attraction is, by far, the Everglades. But a ride on the watertaxi can be very cool (www.watertaxi.com). Shopping is always at the Sawgrass Mills...
In Miami, there is, other than the beaches, Lincoln Road in South Beach and Miami Seaquarium, if you like that sort of things... I would also recommend stay in Coconut Grove. That is nice and quiet neighborhood close to downtown. Very nice area... Take a look at CocoWalk if you go there. And maybe stay at the Hampton Inn Coconut Grove (www.hamptoninncoconutgrove.com)!
