how do you choose a band

Hi Ladies,
I have 6 months til my wedding day, and I still don't have the entertainment booked!! I do need more referrals to bands that you have used and that didn't disappoint. I'm looking for a band that will get everyone on the dance floor. I really would like to see the band live if possible before booking as well. I tried seeing "The Fever" this past weekend at Blend (the bar in Ridgewood) but they canceled because they were snowed in in South Jersey.

they sent a dvd as soon as we saw it we knew we wanted them! they are always playing at places in north jersey

Tanya, do you know if they have a website? I tried googling them but I'm not having any luck. (I'm in the process of looking at bands as well, although my wedding isn't until October 2011.)

We just went through this, we saw 2 bands live and actually booked with Jason Craig who we did not see live. I think you'll just know what a good fit for you is, I thought I would need to see them live, but I didn't. Whether it be video or live you'll probably what will make you cringe and what will make you want to dance. Every band that was recommended on the chat rooms was really good- for me it came down to the personality of the vendors in addition to the actual music. Does your venue have any suggestions?

We did some research and saw some live showcases of bands. We ended up choosing the Dreamteam of NYC Swing company. We can't wait until they play at our wedding. One of the memebers is from Toto! lol.

We used the Cafe Wha band and loved them! You can go see them play in the city. They play 5 nights a week Wed-Sun. http://cafewha.com/

I got married in NYC but we used Soul Revival and they were amazing!! They do showcase live, so you can see them.
