Second guessing my dress...

Ladies, I need some help. I bought this dress shortly after I became engaged. It was incredibly cheap. An Oleg Cassini marked down from $950 to $249. I felt a little rushed (by my MOH and dress consultant) to buy it because it was "the last one in the store".  Anyway...I'm really second guessing it now.. I've found pics of others wearing it online and I think that it's not quite as flattering as I remember...((I'd totally just try my dress on but it's three states away at my mothers house)). Here are the pics I've found.  Can I get a yay or nay?

Also with only 6 months to go, we just joined a gym...hoping to slim down a bit too!!

Re: Second guessing my dress...

  • I think that dress is very pretty. As a fromer dress consultant my best advice would be to go to your local david's bridal see if they have the dress and try it on again. and if you love it then keep it but if your still on the fence ask yourself what about it makes you second guess it. Also tell your consultant upfront why you are there and she will be more than willing to help you.

This pic is a little better

  • They say you shouldn't try on dresses after you have purchased your dress, but maybe you have a different situation. Have you thought about trying on other dresses? The one you have is very pretty, but if you are not feeling it, maybe you should just see if there's another one out there. Maybe then you'll find the dress you have is the one your looking for.

  • I haven't bought my dress yet, and I've been weighing a lot in my mind in regards to finding "the one".  I think it's wonderful that your father chipped in and helped to buy you the dress, especially since your budget may be tight.  I think you need to remember that, no matter what style you wear, you will look beautiful.  You'll look beautiful because 1) you'll be the only one in an amazing, white, lavish gown, and 2) you're marrying a wonderful man.  You'll look amazing and beautiful because you'll FEEL amazing and beautiful about the day and your marriage, not solely because of the dress.  My opinion shouldn't be the be-all end-all of the conversation, but I say you should "check" the dress off your list, and keep on plugging away at the rest of the planning.  Besides, your consultant and MOH are probably two of the most experienced and valuable opinions you could get.  If they say it's great, then everyone else (groom included!) will think it's amazing.
  • Thanks for replying you guys! I haven't tried on other dress since this one. (BTW, the pics posted are NOT of me in the dress-I found them online searching for pics of it-hope that's okay). The girl in the pics is a little bigger than I am. Anyway,  I'm worried about trying more dresses on because my dad already purchased this dress and our budget is a little tight. I hate to go fall in love with a thousand dollar dress...  Maybe I could just go look at Davids Bridal...  That is where I found this dress for such a deal, may I'd find another.
  • I think it is a very pretty dress, but if you are already second guessing it, maybe see if you have another dress you may like amd then sell the one you have.
