Is the weather totally eff-ing sucking lately for anyone else? My god, it was 107 yesterday and of course, the a/c is broken in our store. Well, with it being that hot 3/4 of the towns' a/c are broken also. Ours isn't going to get fixed anytime soon. I believe it got up to 96 in here...I about died.
Anyone else? I just had to bitch, I hate this weather.
Re: Weather
I think weve just become wimpy. People used to deal with summer heat wearing full skirt dresses.
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?

[QUOTE]Hot as hell here, too! High of 98 today and will feel like 105 with the heat index. I'm ready for fall so we can sleep with the windows open and not die of heat stroke!

x2
And did anyone else know that the heat index is based on temperatures taken in the shade? It seems like it would make more sense to base it on temps in the actual sun, considering most of us don't walk around in the shade all day long.
[QUOTE]High of 102, but the heat index is 105-113. I hate summer. And did anyone else know that the heat index is based on temperatures taken in the shade? Ha! This is so true. We're in an "excessive heat" warning...don't believe I've ever seen that one. Hm. High of 104 today but tonight we have a 50% chance of thunderstorms, thank the lord!
I imagine the temperatures out would drastically decrease in city centers if the new stuff was used on a wider scale.
[QUOTE]I saw something on the news lastnight that normal concrete/asphalt had a temp of around 42C, but this new environmentally friendly stuff had a temp of 23C (both were in full sun. I imagine the temperatures out would drastically decrease in city centers if the new stuff was used on a wider scale.

That's interesting...never knew that. They re-did our mall parking lot and I'm pretty sure they didn't use anything "new" because when we were walking across it, I'm pretty sure you could've baked a steak in 2 minutes flat on that asphalt.
Actually, as I type this, it's completely pitch black outside. creepy.

[QUOTE]Actually, it has been a really cold, crappy summer here. It was freezing when we went camping. I wither in the heat, but come on, where the hell is summer?

Honey, your summer is right here in Kansas! :)
Everything the light touches is my kingdom.
[QUOTE]It has only been in the high 80s (only?)here, but with terrible, awful dew points in the mid 70s. God, it's been like walking through a pool the air has been so thick. I seriously feel like I can splash the air at someone.

This pretty much describes the weather here too.

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010
