Not Engaged Yet

I am getting a new birdie.

His name is Thor, he is almost 7 and is a blue and gold macaw. I don't have a picture yet, but he is (used to be) FI parent's bird. He should be coming home with us in the next week or so. He looooves FI. He talks a lot and says a bad word. He is neat and we spent the evening visiting with him last night.

I totally sound like a 2nd grader during show and tell.

Yay!  I love birdies, I used to help take care of Lorikeets and they were a blast to take care of.  They were mischievous though.  Pics soon!

He sounds like he's very pretty. How are birds in terms of pet care? I've never had any experience with them so I don't know much about them. I've only seen them a few times at a friend's house. They seemed kind of messy and noisy, but I did only see them for about 15 minutes.

They're like having a perpetual 2 year old. They are very needy, messy and LOUD. They are also very smart, comical and loving. Not everyone can handle one. That's why so many end up in avian rescues.
