Hey everyone!

Just wanted to see what have you ladies been up to.. and what have you accomplished for your wedding so far?

I have booked the photographer, chosen my bridal party (haven't told them though.. with exception of MOH and BM), booked the venue, scheduled a tasting for next week, I have my top 3 dresses and top 3 bridesmaid dresses (all from the same designer), researched and received invite samples...

Sometimes I think I haven't done enough and other times I think that I have done too much and won't have anything to do later on..

Well just wanted to talk.

I have the venue picked out (haven't booked it yet, probably will do that after the first of the year), picked my colors, picked out my bridal party (only have asked my MOH), went to try on dresses once, looked at cakes and trying to decide on flowers.

I feel like you! I feel like I have a lot of time but I am very anxious to get started.

I am so excited for the planning process, it definitely can not come any sooner. I have my church and venue booked. I know the photographer I want and have met with them, however, I'm waiting for March to officialy book the team. I'm so confussed with my wedding party though. I have four close cousins, a sister, a bestfriend, a brother, a sister in-law, mabye two people from my FI choose, and three of my cousins children I would love to walk as part of my party. Is this too much? I don't know how i would expect any of these people not to be in my bridal party.

sprtychick10... I know!! Its soo exciting yet nerve wrecking. I want to plan but I am a little scared that its too early to book everything. How was the dress experience? Were the consultants surprised you were looking so early? Good luck planning!!! Keep me updated!

melissa852... Planning is soo exciting! I know you said you are waiting until March to sign the photographer but have you meet with them already and discussed pricing? Because many of the vendors I have spoke with already are increasing prices in 2011 and by signing now we lock in the 2010 prices, which are considerably cheaper. As far as your bridal party I counted 13...do I have it right? A big bridal party can be very elegant. I have a pretty big bridal party. (Let me break it down for you...lol) MOH, BM, 2 ring boys and 1 flower girl, 1 Junior Bridesmaid, 5 bridesmaids and 6 groomsmen. (I never really realized how big my bridal party was until I read your post..) But there's a reason to my madness, my FI and I are breaking up the bridal party into 8 couples which represent the # of yrs we have been together by the time June 2012 rolls around. I know that's a long time but we started going out in high school. Well hun, GOOD LUCK!!!

I haven't done much. I have my venue picked out but it can't be booked until June 1, 2011. I have a photographer in mind ( a family friend). I have picked my bridal party, but haven't offically told any of them. I'm waiting until about a year out to seriously start the planning.

mizzicantwait- they were actually really nice. They didn't question the wedding being so far away at all. The consultant actually seemed disappointed I didn't get a dress that day. I am hesitant to buy a dress this early because I don't want it to start aging. But also, if I find "the" early, I would probably go ahead and get it!

I've booked the church and venue. I've met with a few DJ's, photographer, florist, and event coordinator. I've also called limo companies. I don;t want to do anything next summer except try on gowns and send out the save the date magnets! I'm afraid to book vendors now even though I want to get it over with because I'm afraid if I book one that I'll see a better deal after I book and it'll be too late. I'm accountant so slow time now is the prime time for me to get stuff down. So anxious and worried!

I have my dress ordered within a couple of months of being engaged! I found one i thought i liked but was hesitant about it and went back to see. I ended up trying on some similar things and found something wayyyyy better so i ordered it

Other then that I have the photographer booked. Just did that like last week. And my reception/ceremony venue (Deposit paid). It was a super popular place in nothern Philly so we pretty much got the last date close to what we wanted.

I have the Bridal party mostly picked out (MOH told actually she told me haha but still. and one BM my sister told no one else). I am still deciding on the last one will see where I am with people in a year.

I was working on finding a cheap videographer. and i contacted a few but the one I REALLY love and wanted emailed me back saying he doesnt really book more then a year out! So mad! I kinda still want him but now i think i will wait for a while and see if i find something comparable price wise.

I am trying to book everything now/before we hit a year because my FI is going to be finishing up school next yearish earlier then expected so we might end up moving away depends on jobs and such. So i feel kinda early but at the same time a little stressed about it! (wow that was long. sorry!)

cfblechman- so glad you got your dress you wanted! I am going again next Saturday to try on dresses. This time I am taking one bridesmaid and my FMIL as well as my mom.

Haha sprtychick10 I def wasnt planning on it! But I just happened to be home a couple of times

So excited about it. Decemeber will be interesting cause I am inviting my FMIL up to my hometown to come see it. Good luck dress hunting! Glad both the FMIL and your mom can go. That was a key for me I had to go shopping sepeartly in two different states to make sure everyone was happy!

Purple&7- Dont worry at all! you still have plently of time. I currently have nothing to do except job search and plan a wedding. and planning is so much more fun! Also we might be moving and I want to get a bunch of vendors picked before we either move or i get a full time job!

Mizzicantwait- first off love the name! So true! Second are you planning a bunch of DIY? I know there are a couple of things I want to do so its even more time to make sure I get it all right! and even if you arent there are always so many little details that will keep us busy I am sure!

cfblechman- did the store give you any tips for storing your dress since the wedding is so far out?? If I find "the" dress next weekend, I don't want to have to walk away from it since we have so far to wait.

Sprtychick- The bridal store i bought it from at home actually stores it for me, until I want to take it with me. I might have alterations done by them but that wouldnt matter either. I can even pay for it in full and they will still store it for me! So no worries for me thank god!

I would ask them about that. I would think that they would be able to store it at least for a little while for you. and if not they should be able to give you some tips.

cfblechman- We are doing a bit of DIY, so I should have stuff to entertain myself with but I don't see the DIY taking so long.. then again I might be seriously mistaken..
-Our favors are DIY
-Centerpieces are DIY (But I have 2 aunts that did interior designs, therefore they know how to make floral arrangements..) Since my "theme" is peacock feathers I am planning on doing something with branches and incorporate feathers in there some how... still in the planning/researching stages so there is time to change it...
-butonierres (DIY)

I think that is all the DIY.

Thanks for the name compliment. It just fits me! Afterall my fiance and I have been together for 6 years (as of today) and by June 2012 we would be going onto our 8th year. We are high school sweethearts and decided to get married a year after we finished college.

Mizzicantwait- I did speak with the photographer and the only reason I was able to afford them was because of the time frame. I am so happy I went earlier to look for pricing. You are completely right it made a huge difference booking in advanced. Fortunately, the photographers are able to give me same price we spoke about earlier this month even if i wait to book in March

Thanks for the advice on the big bridal party. I agree, I think having a big bridal party will look beautiful and will have family members anxiously waiting the brides arrival after the long birdal walk lol. I love your idea of breaking up the bridal party into couples that represent the # of years you guys have been together. It is very original. Good luck on the wedding planning

Wow u guys, lol. I have also picked and paid my wedding/reception hall. My place is super duper hard to get as well so had to take it before it was gone. I have picked out my wedding party and told everyone...rather asked them and they have accepted. I feel the same way though...not sure how I will feel about everyone in a years time lol...except for my MOH (my daughter).

I know my wedding colors but won't do anything for I might change my mind in a years time. So I will be holding off on booking limos, photos, videographers etc. But how fun this all is....I guess because we don't have any pressure, so now it seems like a ball. I too cannot wait for everything to come together. Is anyone hiring a wedding planner? I think I might...maybe...I think, lol.

Oh I tried on my very first wedding dress this past weekend and it was gorgeous! I had to stop myself from purchasing it, for I had only tried that one on...God please give me will power!

Reading what you all have done makes me not feel crazy at all!
-I found THE dress back in May right after getting engaged! My mother and I did not go with any intentions of actually finding a dress but it happened! I finally ordered it two weeks ago! Yes, I lost sleep over the thought of what if they no longer have it! (And putting it on a second time was even more exciting than the first knowing it would be mine!)
-We booked the church a couple weeks into the engagement and began meeting with our local priest in June. We met the priest who will be doing the wedding last week and absolutely loved him!
-We asked all of the bridal party while in town last week - MOH, BM, 2 Groomsmen, 2 Bridesmaids.
-Looked at reception venues last week and I think we have figured out where it will be. If we go with this venue, the DJ is included Now we are just taking a good look at the budget and the guest list.
-I found super cute Save the Dates and (thanks to a comment from melissa852 on another post) I found the rest of the stationary. Now I just have to wait to do it...
-The rest, I am contacting for prices

Lol, Tiffany...not crazy at all! When is ur wedding? I think at least picking or choosing your venue, the officiant (not sure if I spelled that right, lol) and ur bridal party helps you to decide your theme, and budget. I do have my dress I want, but won't purchase...i keep looking at the bridal magazine that I get sent to me and I am afraid that I will see something else.
