waterproof P&S cameras?

any recs? (or any "avoids"?)

we've been booking shore excursions for our cruise next month and we've signed up for swimming with the dolphins and are looking at another one where you get to swim with the sea turtles.

will likely be using it for future cruises/snorkeling, at home in the pool, and eventually SCUBA diving (not certified yet, will do so in a few years).

do not have, but, for video, I've heard decent things about the waterproof cover for the flip.

You may be able to buy a case specifically designed for your camera. We bought an Olympus P&S about 5 years ago and at the time, we were able to purchase from Olmypus a case that was specifically built for our model that would make it waterproof. I'd recommend looking at regular P&S and see if that's an option. I would imagine that wouldn't be feasible with cameras that have a touchscreen LCD.

do you need a camera that can go underwater a lot? if not, i think you can get a disposable 35mm kodak waterproof camera for under $20 at a CVS or Target. if you know you have a high need for an underwater camera, then obviously this wont work. but if it is just for a vacation every dso often, this is what i'd do.
