H went in for the owner interview yesterday and he got the job. He'll be working from 8 - 6, Mon - Thurs at the place where we board the dogs. He'll be cleaning the cattery, kennels, learning all the grooming techniques, supervising play time and taking the dogs on the nature walks. With all of those nature walks, he's going to end up all in shape and tan and stuff.
He is so happy to have somewhere to go and something to do. I am so happy for him.
This job is awesome because of the perks. Oh, the perks! The manager, whom we have known for three years through boarding Jake and all of the various fosters, has asked H to bring Jake in to facilitate play time. She says play time is the most active when Jake is there, stirring stuff up. Also, if H can learn how to cut Jake's nails (which I have tried and he always squirms too much and he ends up bleeding and I end up crying), that will save us so much money!
WE ALSO GET FREE BOARDING! We have Foo Fighters in Tulsa in a few weeks and are going to start taking advantage of this right away.
I know it isn't the most glamorous job, but H applied everywhere and I mean EVERYWHERE, last summer and got nothing. I didn't know how much that was bothering him, so this is really great.
