Stupid Waitress( maybe I am overeacting)

So Fi and I went to a restaurant for lunch. We sit down and from the start this girl was addressing Fi as follows and I am serious as a heart attack:" would you like more Ice Tea Baby" BABY?!? WTF!! It doesnt end there she also squeezed in a couple of honeys and FLIRTED all the while I was address as "would you like more Coke ma'am?".... Fi and I were annoyed and he was mortified......I am kind of livid about this,I guess she figured that the man pays the bill why just not kiss up or something.......How would you react??

It depends on her tone about it.  I used to work in a hair salon and we used to call everyone sweetie or baby or hunni, it just became "normal" to us.  We didnt' even realize it when we did it, and we would have a few clients ask us not to do that.  I think some people think they are coming off sweet when they do that but if it's over done yes it can be HIGHLY annoying!  Sorry about your day!

I used to wait tables and I had a bad habit of calling people hun - especially younger people who I felt weird calling Maam - until one day a lady WENT OFF on me.... I stopped... but I didnt flirt.... shes just asking for someone to go OFF on her!

Oh man, I suffer from this disease.  I call everyone "my love" or "hun" or "sweetie" or...well, you get the idea. :/  Thing is though, the fact she was calling you ma'am and calling him "baby" sounds like she was either doing some heavy flirting, or trying to piss you off.  I might be oblivious enough to call a man "babe" in front of his girlfriend, but I'm also the type of person to turn right around and call her "honey".  So I would've kicked her butt if I were you.

    I kid, I kid.  Sorta.

    LOL! Janet!

I agree, I would have been a bit peeved as well. If she was "babying" you both, that's one thing.. but only him and "ma'am" to you, that's not right. I would have have placed my order in the same manner. "I want a coke, baby cheeks!"  "I think I want the chef salad, honey bunny!"  In an obvious manner, and if she would react I would have said very sarcastically.. "weird right?"

Then I would have kicked her butt... lol!!

I agree with pp. You ma'am but him baby, not cool.

Knowing Craig he would have gone "Please stop calling baby, ma'am." and left a disgraceful tip :x

Actually this happen to me once..  The waitress kept calling him baby and barely even looked at me to take my order.. Little did she know I was paying the bill.  So when the bill came I paid it, no tip, but i gave her a tip when i left... She got a mouthful of me...
