Wolverine's birthday was last weekend, and we had a lot of fun!
Mom, Dad, Sister, and ILs all flew in to celebrate with us. We had 2 fairly successful day trips and a birthday party within 3 days - and no fights broke out. WIN!
11/3 - made a delicious turkey for dinner, which we ate when everyone finally got in. uneventful except for my parents' plane being attacked by "angry birds" (the hawk that got caught in the engine and caused a 10 hour delay). Finished Wolverine's "Birthday shirt" - because i wasn't about to spend $30 on etsy for something I could make.

11/4 - Wolverine's birthday. Day trip to Galveston. We didn't know there was a motorcycle rally in Galveston last weekend, so we were partially deaf by the time we got to dinner. Shopped, walked on the beach, had a fantastic dinner with a view of the Gulf.

11/5- went to the Ren Faire. Everyone really enjoyed themselves. Dad bought a pair of satyr horns and wore them to annoy my mom. the shows were great, and FIL had a ball oogling the scantily clad girls. (there was one girl who was wearing what amounted to a bra, g-string, and a chainmail "skirt" (belt). I think that was the favorite. )
11/6 - birthday party. invited the ladies in my mom group and their little kids. everyone had a fun time. the cake was a hit. i'm really proud of how well it turned out. all icing is homemade - and TY to whoever suggested the Hershey icing - it beat out the chocolate buttercreme in a taste test. (warning: messy baby pic ahead - she got her cake, ate it, and shortly after this picture was carted off, wrapped in a towel, for a bath. i figure this is the one time where she'll get to look like this after eating.)
