Lancaster Hotel Venues

I am newly engaged (yay!) and we're planning a wedding for the end of July.  Due to so many out of town guests, we want a venue with a hotel.  Does anyone know anything about Willow Valley Doubletree, the Eden Resort, or Heritage Hotel in Lancaster?  Thanks!

(I'm copying and pasting this from some of my previous posts. Also I attached some pics for you! All the pictures were taken on hotel grounds. Email me if you have any questions: caracburgess@gmail.com

I was in the same situation at you. We were all coming from out of town and wanted a hotel venue. We ended up having our ceremony and reception at the Eden Resort. We LOVED having our event there. The food was some of the best wedding food I've ever had. The mashed potatoes were to die for!! I had guests raving about how much they enjoyed their meal. We went with the sirloin roast beef and stuffed chicken. They also offer a vegetarian option free of charge so we got vegetable stir fry. Our veggie friends said they were happy with the change from the usual vegetable lasagna they get at most weddings. I was worried about a place to do our pictures, but our photog did all the pictures on the grounds and they turned out great.
Also....we had a our wedding there on a Sunday night so we got a 25% discount. We actually found it to be one of the most affordable options for what we were looking for. The minimum food cost is much cheaper on Sunday. We just had to spend at least 7,000 to use the courtyard. No big deal! We had a budget of 12k. We got the cheapest open bar and the cheapest food options. It is set up as price per person, but they just want to make sure you have a minimum amount. They don't want people reserving the room that only have like 20 people. This is standard for hotel venues. The courtyard was a breathtakingly beautiful venue and it worked great for a July wedding. While the weather was good, it was ungodly hot that day. We were happy to spend most of the time inside.
As I live in the Philly area.....venues here were more than twice the cost of the Eden. When we expanded our venue area to Lancaster county....we were relived at the price dip. We couldn't believe all that we got for the cost. I know I sound like an ad, but after being unable to afford most large hotel venues, we lucked out with this!

Our guests all stayed in the hotel as did we. Lots of our friends spent the day of the wedding swimming in the hotel pools. From what I understand, they're adding a waterslide next year. Because we rented the courtyard, they gave use the use of Arthur's Restaurant for the after party free of charge. We were at the bar at Arthur;s until 3 am!
The day after the wedding I got to say goodbye to everyone at the brunch. It was an awesome weekend!
Overall...I highly recommend the Eden!! Let me know if you have any other questions!

That is really helpful!  We're looking at the Courtyard, too.  We're also considering a Friday night wedding, which is a lot cheaper.  We're going over to meet with the people on Saturday.  Your post made me really excited.  Thank you!!!

We had our wedding at The Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square.  What a beautiful venue!  The thing I LOVED about Marriott is that everything was included.  tax, gratuity, hor d'oeuvres, full bar all in one simple price per head.  When I went to price other places their per head was cheaper, however when tax gratuity was added it really didn't make much of a difference.  Having a downtown wedding is awesome!  So beautiful!  Your guests will have lots to do and lots of things to see.  The food and service at Marriott is top notch.  We had a five course meal which was just awesome. The risotto was amazing!!!  The soup that was served was some of the best I've ever had.  The drinks were good too. Our guests were very pleased with the bar.  They didn't skimp on the drinks either, which was nice.  My husband and I had our own personal waiter that got us drinks and everything during the reception. It was very nice.   If you have further questions let me know.  my email is kristi dot enochs @ gmail dot com Smile

Here are some pics I only have pics available right now that are on FB...so most are my professional ones, but some are from friends

This was in front of The Marriott

This was in Central Market, which is right across the street

inside the lobby...however it is huge. This picture doesn't do it justice!

Not sure if you can see the details of the room from this pic...but this is the only good professional one I have on FB

    a friends pic

    The table set up.

The white linens were included I paid $5 for the runners from another company.  :)  Marriott will do menu folded napkins with their napkins. They designed and printed the menu cards at no additional cost.  I rented colored napkins.   The candles are included in the price  too.

a friends picture of the menu card.

They did back lighting for us because we booked within a certain time. I am sure they could work this into your plan too!  :)

    Good luck!

I briefly looked into Heritage Hills in Lancaster. I've heard the service is wonderful, but I just wasn't all that impressed with their ballroom.  I found it to be very outdated (think mirrors on all the walls and big "crystal" chandeliers everywhere). Also depending on what day and time you're wedding will be, it's a pain to get in and out of their parking lot if you're coming from Route 30. I work right across the street, so I see it every night when I leave at 5:30.

We're getting married at Heritage Hills in York and we were really impressed. They have an outdoor ceremony site and 3 or 4 different rooms to choose from.
