Re: Silly Hair Question

  • I'm not sure, but I do remember that the hair stylist for my friends' wedding in October told us not to wash it that day and to sleep with hairspray in it the night before. I didn't wash mine but I sure as hell did not sleep in hairspray! Lol. My hair did hold really well that day, but I don't know if it's because it wasn't washed. I have mine tomorrow so I'll ask my girl and let you know!
  • I washed my hair the day of and my stylist complained about it being too clean.  She told me to put gel in it after I shower and then blow dry - I am going to ask her if I should do this the night before or in the morning.

I've heard this, too. I think that it pertains more to updos because it holds better, but I could also totally be making that up. :) My hair looks like sheit if I don't wash it and wear it down. But, for my sister's wedding, I had it up and didn't wash it as instructed, and it held ALL night (and the next morning!).
  • for my trial I didnt wash my hair. I asked my stylist, and she told me to wash it, she will make it dirty for me!

I feel gross if I dont wash my hair!

  • I did not wash it before hand. My stylist told me the day of the wedding she will wash and blow dry it before she starts working on me.

  • My regular hairstylist told me if she did my wedding, she wouldn't want me to wash it that day. The placing I'm going, though, washes it for me before they style it, and it held just fine. I think it partly depends on your hair.

    Still here and still fabulous!

  • My hair dresser says that updos work best with semi-dirty hair.  For my trial, mine was clean and dry and it was soo soft.  So I plan on washing it the night before the wedding and letting it air dry.  I hope this helps it stay!

  • Mine told me that it doesn't matter if it's the night before or morning of, but when she found out I had naturally wavy hair, she yelled (kinda) and made me swear not to straighten it or even blow dry it out. She wants me to let it air dry. I told it gets greasy that way and we agreed that I would let it dry for a while on it's own and only blowdry my roots when it was mostly dry on the ends.

  • My stylist told me that I can wash mine the night before. My hair get a little bit oily and it makes it look darker and kinds gross, and she knows that would drive me nuts. So you might be able to do it that way.

  • My stylist told me to not wash it the day of the wedding. It will hold curl better (90% of my hair will be down). So, I'll wash it the day before, but definitely not that morning.
