Went to one recently where we literally sat around waiting between the salad and entree... a good 45 minutes-1hour wasted just sitting there insted of dancing. It sucked- main reasons I believe is that the dance floor was in another room, and most of the guests didn't dance even when the party was in full swing.
NOTE: I love kids. I love well-behaved kids at weddings. But I was at a wedding recently where the kids were screaming, crying, rolling around on the floor, showing their underwear (at like 8-years-old) and basically running wild, a la Lord of the Flies.
I can't stand when they do the bride & groom dance, mother-son, father-daughter.. and cake cutting within the first 15 minutes of the reception back to back!

<div>I hear what you're saying, but as the bride and groom, it's kind of nice to get it all overwith in the beginning so you can attempt enjoy yourself. One of the biggest surprises to us was that EVERY time, and I mean EVERY time we were about to relax at our reception, something happened, someone wanted to take a picture, a vendor had a question, one of the staff pulled us away to make sure we ate something, someone was leaving early and wanted to say goodbye, etc. By the time we got through saying hello to everyone (about 200 people) it felt like it was over. </div>

1. useless favors 2. personal vows written by the bride and groom. I'm not against non-traditional vows at all, but simply when bride and groom write something for "each other". It makes me feel very weird and umcomfortable, like I am watching something I shouldn't. WHy do you need to share this very personal thing in front of all of your guests?
When the bride and groom come to our table to say hi and thank you, but they have a handful of envelopes (because that makes it seem to me that they're "collecting admission" instead of thanking us). And satin bags to collect envelopes (unless there's a cultural reason for that).
Sunday night and Friday night weddings.
Ridiculously huge cocktail hours followed by mediocre meals. I'd much rather have crackers and veggies followed by a good meal than have to gorge myself on cocktail food because the meal is going to be bad. Over the top cocktail hours aren't my thing.
i hate when there is a long shuttle bus ride from the hotel to the reception.. last wedding i went to it was 45 minute shuttle ride, thats just ridiculous

Friday nights and Sunday night weddings are a pet peeve od yours?
By "long gaps," how long is too long? And I'm pretty sure some people complaining about them had "long gaps" themselves (but it didn't seem that way since time flies when you're having pictures taken).
Sometimes, there's no way around it if you want a Catholic wedding on a Saturday, when the latest it can start is 2 p.m. (because of evening services), and the earliest the reception can start is 6 p.m.
But if it's a non-religious wedding in a park or on the beach in the early afternoon, but the party isn't until dinnertime, then yeah. Please don't do that.
These are my two big peeves, which there are no excuses for having:
1. The slideshow/photo montage of the couple that guests are forced to sit through for at least 10 minutes.
2. Wedding photographers who choreograph or manipulate moments. For instance, before the bride tosses the bouquet, she's positioned in a way that provides optimum lighting for the photographer. But the flowers end up landing far from the crowd. Not that "all the single ladies" (gag) care, since most of them were forced out there by the bride. (Oh look, I brought up another peeve!)

Yes. Friday night because it is hard to get out of work and I'd normally have to take a half day, and Sunday nights because of work the next day.
Butterknives, to me anything that is an hour plus more than the time it takes to get from the ceremony to the reception is a long, annoying gap to me. I understand it is sometimes unavoidable, but that doesn't mean it isn't annoying to be all dressed up with no place to go!
no bar, weird/long toasts, and loud music you cant dance too/no one likes, DJs that stop a song midway to make silly announcements...think thats about it. But if there is a bar, all the other stuff stops bothering me haha
Re: Non Clicky Poll: What is your biggest wedding pet peeve?
Ps: I was asked this at my interview with TLC yesterday.
