My sabotage

My natural reaction to all things good is to sabotage it. I don't even mean to, but I think subconciously I tell myself good things cannot happen without the bad.

So here I am, 5 days away and I'm telling myself that Im getting sick. I don't really know if I am, or if it's in my head, but it feels like my throat is scratchy, my head hurts, and my body aches. I really hope this just going to go away. Everyone is telling me the more I think about it, the more I'm going to  cause it upon myself. That's probably true. I guess I just can't imagine things going well and happily.... blah...Debbie downer here...

I have to remember, my FI does need knee surgery after the wedding...is limping, so I think we paid our price. I don't need to be sick too.

I will try and fight this cold and let myself be HAPPY!!! Okay vent over!!

Re: My sabotage

  • I was sick this past weekend (fever and all) and it was likely stress induced. Just keep taking vitamins and drink LOTS of fluids. Luckily I am feeling MUCH better today and should be fine for Saturday. Just keep breathing!!! We're almost there :-)

I'm not even kidding, I felt the same exact way today this afternoon at work.  I got a headache and was feeling so drained.  Then, tonight, one of my friends said... what about allergies??? I do get allergies and with all the crazy weather here lately, I think she could be right.  Even if it's not allergies, it made me feel so much better knowing there's a possibility I'm not getting sick...

    Hope you feel better!!!

  • Oh no! Feel better!
The week before my wedding I was sick, so sick. I was so terrified I would be sick the day of, but I got completely better two days before.
Try not to stress out! You'll feel better :) And if you can, just relax whenever possible

  • My husband and I were sick too. It wan't a serious Flu type of sick but the sinus bug that was going around with coughing at night. I went to the doctor and he wrote both of us Rx's for a Z-pac (antibiotic) and a steroid pack. Both of us are usually not ones to take a lot of meds but we needed to be well for a wedding weekend not just one day. We were both completely well by the weekend of. So, I would recommend a visit to your primary care just to be on the safe side. He may or may not prescribe anything OR he could write you something to be filled just in case.
