So...per requested...more details on the position.
It's a career services representative at the Colorado Technical University.
A lot of time will be spent on the phone, checking in with current and former students on their job search. I'll also be trying to connnect and build relationships with employers in the area so that they will hire our students.
I interviewed with the new director today and he's a former Marine sargeant. He's only been there for three months- and has made a lot of changes. I guess a lot of students think the department is kind of a joke....because they have had lazy and unskilled employees working there.
I'll have to go out of my way to build trust with the students.
I'll also help with job fairs.
I think it sounds fun...I hope it's as fun as I want it to be- even if it's a challenge.
Perhaps I can absorb all the good vibes here? For all of my interviews, I still have yet to get anything. I got offered an internship that I turned down because it wasn't in my field.
Oooh...I start on Monday at 9 AM! They wanted me to start tomorrow- but they need to fire their current temp- who apparently their other perm is absolutely besties with...so that will be.... awkward...
GBP- Have you tried staffing agencies? I them and they have always done me good.
(I don't know how temp agencies adore me....yet I get bypassed for the 20+ jobs I apply for on my own. Doesn't make sense. Guess temp agencies can see good quality people- they know what they are looking for).

I hope so, right?!
They are also hiring an internal for another position. Hopefully we'll start on the same day?? That will ease the tension for sure...
I stupidly updated my linkedin profile last night (because I'm super excited)- only to see that the current temp (most likely) is in my "network"- we share a connection at the temp agency. Although- her linkedin profile sucks- so I'm thinking the probability of her logging on and seeing she's probably getting fired and replaced by me is low.

Yes, that is definitely the trick!
