I'm feeling kinda frenchy today.
As some of you know, we didn't really take the honeymoon we planned, Belize was hit by a hurricane the day we were supposed to get there. We diverted to Vigin Gorda, which is beautiful, but not really very honeymoon-y. This is because of the wild chickens and goats that made a lot of noise at 2AM. It'll be funny in 5 years, it's not amusing at all right now (yes, I know I'm being totally bratty about that).
So we have vacation time end of June- beginning of July. What are your suggestions?? We aren't going to Try Belize again until the airline merger is done, so we can fly for free, score!
Yes, Paige, NS is on the table

If you're avoiding that area during hurricanes also, may I recommend wine country? Head out to San Fran. My parents stayed at The Adagio Inn and had a private jaccuzi on their own private patio, and it wasn't expensive! They were super close to all the vineyards and had an amazing trip.

Fiji will be our last hurrah before trying for babies, so we can't go there or else the questions will never stop.
Cate- My family lives in wine country in CA, but I love the Keys idea.
Loopy, Beth and Sky- Where in Europe? Keep in mind that we have both been there ( I've been 7 times in the past 5 years) and we've hit a lot of the mjor places ( London, Paris, Rome, Florence, Berlin, Budapest, Prague and Barcelona)
What kind of vacation are you looking for?
If I didn't go to Europe, I would go to Australia or New Zealand.
[QUOTE]Hazel- H is thinking Canada, the Northwest or maybe Bermuda. We are also thinking about doing an Alaska cruise. We're going to Chicago next summer (I think) and I'm super excited. We went to Boston this past summer and saw Fenway - so in Chicago we'll get to see Wrigley and whatever else is in Chicago (I'm aware there's much more to life than baseball, but I can't think of anything at the moment!)
I also lived in FL for much of my adult life - any of the beaches by us were just fine for a honeymoon, I'd imagine. They're not "exotic" but they're still relaxing.
I also love the Saratoga Springs/Lake George area of upstate NY (which is pretty close to Niagara if you wanted to do kinda a combined trip.)
Let us know what you're considering
We would like to be bums. If I could get a hammock, I would be thrilled. I'll run Greece by H, he might be cool with that. It'll appeal to the Art History major in him. And I would LOVE to hit the Cook Islands near New Zealand, but it'll be winter there. Sad panda face.

Paiger- Where would we stay? What would you and FBD have us do?
Don't forget that a lot of the hurricanes that we don't hear about because they don't enter gulf go straight up the Atlantic past Bermuda. So that could still be risky.

<div>There are lots of beautiful B & B's in Halifax/Outside of Halifax/ all over NS. Depending on what you wanted to do we could do lots of things. We'd have to take you to Peggy's Cove, to see the Bluenose II/Historic Lunenburg, the Public Gardens are just stunning as well. Keith's brewery tour is always a must (free NS beer! wo0t!). You could go on a wine tour (a couple really nice wineries in the valley) or go explore historic sites. Also, Cape Breton is a really nice place to just relax, enjoy the outdoors and play on the beach. I think FBD and I are going to CB for our mini-moon next year</div>

BF and I want to go on a vacation soon and we were looking there or at Queens Landing. They both look awesome.
Plus, you could always crash at our place on your way down. Just sayin.

I vote for Australia!
The Maritimes is amazing if you like beaches/cottages. And Paige is there of course.
Out West (BC/Alberta) is beautiful as well. Alberta is nicer on the western part of the province right along the Rockies. Mountain towns are very romantic.
I've never been to the part of BC along the Rockies but BF used to live there and he said it's a lot like Alberta. So again, absolutely stunning. The BC coast is also beautiful, it's not quite as mountain-y but there ARE still mountains. But it's the coast, so it's beautiful with its little islands.
Quebec is also really nice if you want something a bit different. I find it very historical (like with the architecture, for example) and it's really neat how French it really is there.
I've got pics I took on vacation from all these places (well just PEI and New Brunswick n the Maritimes) soo if you would like, I could post some for you to see if you're considering it.
