Wedding Party

NWR: Sometimes I really, really hate people.

Someone who just started working here walked my cubicle and was like "Oh! Is that your fiance?" and I was like "Yeah!" (all chipper and proud). She looked at me and said "Really?"

WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE! I WANT TO PUNCH HER IN HER THROAT.

Re: NWR: Sometimes I really, really hate people.

  • She is the suck. Some people just like to ruin other people's fun... or life. IMO, you guys are adorable :)
  • I wonder what she meant by that? Either way, what a bitchy thing to say. And way to build rapport with new coworkers, right?

  • Oh how friendly of her!

My male coworker (who I love and hang out with outside of work) told me yesterday that I looked like death and today that I looked high, although I suppose in fairness that was after I said I was groggy from medicine. But seriously, if he wants to keep the GF he just started dating, I think he needs to learn that you do not say those things to girls even if they're true!

I have no idea what she meant, but I do know it wasn't nice.

Seriously. I know someone who isn't invited to next weeks happy hour!

    Ugh, so true!!!
  • My response would have been "Is that supposed to make me like you, really?"
    Anniversary
  • Well, doesn't she sound like a peach. That's not the best way to win friends at the office.

  • Mags!  Where have you been???

    Anniversary
  • I hate when people say "you look tired"

Thank you for telling me I look like $hit today!
dont make ur password so easy. gbck2CA2 hahahaha
  • That was catty of her! Rawr! Forget her - you two are adorable based off of your picture!
  • What the heck did that mean?  Holy rude!  And of course you can think of 100 witty responses when it's way too late.
  • Omg, I hate people all the time, lol, but especially when it comes to stuff like this.

You weren't here yet, but right after I got married, I had kind of a similar problem, a few of DH's co-workers met me made a few comments basically implying that they had expected him to "go for personality 'first'".

Apparently, since I wasn't a stereotypical-looking nerd girl (I'm a "professional" blonde and I actually put effort into looking nice everyday), they assumed he only asked me out because I was pretty and then later discovered the personality as a perk. They couldn't believe that we really were "just friends" for several years and that he knew I was a "complete package" prior to us dating. Asshats.

  • "Uh, Yeah. Really!!" Granted I've only seen one picture, your sig... but I don't see anything wrong with him, or the way you both look as a couple for that matter. What a weird thing to say. I know there are those people who just don't know how to say something right, but it's remarkable how many there are.
And if string cheese is involved, it's totally okay to not give her a response.
Just walk by tomorrow "Oh, did you get dressed in the dark today?" "No!" "Are you sure?"

I hate when people say "you look tired" I know I look like crap today, I don't need you to tell me. What can I do about it, really?
Night swimming in the ocean= pretty sweet reception!
