Just curious what everyone is doing for their table linens, as I just scheduled a meeting to discuss this stuff with my caterer (whom we're renting linens from) and I haven't given it much thought yet.
What color table linens will you have? Are you doing the same color for napkins as the table cloth? Are you doing table runners? Post pics if you have mock-ups or inspiration photos, please!
Re: Table Linens
My venue provides all that stuff so I just have to pick out the color. I am probably going to go with one of my wedding colors so either a wine color, pink, or champagne color.
Apart from that, we decided to have some picnic blankets with large pillows for the younger crowds. I'm planning to make classic red-and-white checkered blankets.
How are you making the table linens? Do you have a sewing machine? Are you using a pattern? I'm feeling crafty.
These are the centerpieces, the vases will be different but just so you can get a sense of the color contrast. In person, they are more purple than pink.
The guest tables will have royal blue overlays with black table cloths
The sweetheart table will have a lime green overlay with black tablecloth.
If you want to play with different colors and options, go to http://www.bbjlinen.com/
Then go to the "virtual design center".
Then you can play with different design options and color options and see what looks best.
It can be reallllllllly addicting.....so be careful.

Our venue provides as well - but only in white - which is fine by me.
Our venue provides linens in limited colors so we're using their ivory (one of my colors) and I'm adding chocolate brown runners, probably these:
www.efavormart.com - chocolate, dual-tone edition, tablecloths, table linens, wholesale tablecloths, round tablecloths, rectangle tablecloths, banquet tablecloths, flocking table runners
and then putting chocolate satin/organza ribbon around the napkins with an open velvet silk turquoise flower:

I'm probably going to use the sashes that match the runner for the chairs and tie them from the base of the chair to the top without a bow like this:
Chair Sashes 1
Chair Sashes 2
and add another of the open bloom flowers like the ones on the napkin rings.
I have no idea what sort of place settings they have, but we saw the linens when we paid the deposit because they were setting up for another wedding. I'll know more about that when we go back to hammer out the menu in a couple months.
[QUOTE]Elinetrouwt, those are ideas are fantastic. Love them! How are you making the table linens? Do you have a sewing machine? Are you using a pattern? I'm feeling crafty. :)

<div>I have a sewing machine... I'm not using patterns, I'll either use an old tablecloth for measurements or just try to measure some straight lines. I'll have to look up some instructions on the internet, but sewing table linen is supposed to be really easy.</div>
Happy Planning!

Thanks! One of my BMs is great with a sewing machine. Maybe she can show me . . . :)
[QUOTE]Thanks for all the ideas! -Butterfly, that site is so cool! I think I saw someone post it awhile ago, but I wasn't in the linen planning mood yet. I'll probably spend the next hour playing with it, haha.

I think it was probably me, haha! I remember showing it to someone else who was going through linen-planning issues...and isn't the site addicting?? it is perfect for seeing what certain color layouts on a table ACTUALLY look like!
