Sue them. It sounds like they might be getting a class action together w/ some firm in B'ham. Or, go thru small claims. Or, start your own case in district court. Try to force them to give you your photos...but in the end you may just end up with your money back.
I had this happen to a really good friend about 2 years ago. We're attorneys, so she ended up taking them to court on her own. They ended up entering into a settlement where they either had to produce the photos (and copyrights) or give back all the money. They showed up with about 3/4 of the photos and no copyrights. Since they violated the agreement, she kept the 3/4 of the photos and also go a full refund.
Thank you. Do you have any other advice? This is like something that you only hear of happening, but doesn't really happen.....I'm still in shock, because sure enough, it's happening to me....wow. I really appreciate the advice
Wow. I can't believe the number of BBB complaints! How awful that you and all these other couples are going through this!
The Decidio website says they opened a new location- how crazy. Maybe you should stop by there, or sic Mel on them! lol If it's true that they are at a new location, then you should have a lawyer send them some kind of letter saying that if they don't pony up by XX date, you will pursue further action.
If you are pretty much resigned to losing your money, you may want to see about just getting the pictures and the rights to them. At least this way you'll have your wedding pics- there are plenty of online sites to do albums and such.
