I went dress shopping for the 2nd time yesterday

I found one I really liked, but it didn't feel like "the one" so I'm going to keep looking. It was the first one I tried on yesterday--at first I thought it felt really heavy & kind of restrictive (it's an allover lace fit & flare) so I tried on more. Some of the others felt alot lighter & more comfortable, but I didn't really like how they looked. I decided to try on the first one again, and it didn't feel quite as heavy after trying on the others & getting used to it.
I'm just wondering how others' experiences were--does your gown feel 100% comfortable, like you can move around freely (and sit down/dance/breathe! haha) ? Or is it normal for it to maybe feel heavy/a little restrictive? If it has tulle, doesn't it kinda feel like the dress is wearing you? I'm sure it depends on the style, and you'll probably get used to it regardless, but I want to make sure I'm not being unrealistic is thinking the dress should be pretty comfortable too.
Thanks!
Re: How comfortable is your gown?
Then I tried on the dress that I bought at White Dress and it fit like a dream. Not heavy at all! It is so comfortable and eventhough it has a similar shape to the Maggie dress that I tried on the fabric is much more luxurious and not as heavy. You definitely get what you pay for!
The dress I bought is a lace bodice, but it flares at the hip so it doesn't restrict my legs. It's got a tulle skirt so it's quite light, even though it does have a bit of a train. I haven't tried on "my dress" yet since it hasn't come in, and the sample was a bit small so it was hard to know how comfortable it is. There was some scratchy lace on the inside of the neckline of the bodice, but she promised to cover it with silk so it wouldn't chaff my skin. Otherwise, I could move easily and it wasn't too heavy.
If anything was uncomfortable, I would have either had it fixed or found another dress. I would hate to have being uncomfortable be a memory of my wedding!
I'll deal w/it

[QUOTE]At first I only wanted a Maggie dress because I loved the dresses on her site. But once I started trying them on (about 10 or so) I noticed that the dresses have so much fabric and are sooo heavy. The one Maggie I liked the most was allover heavy satin with a bubble skirt and must have weighed 50 pounds! lol! I ended up going with a dress from a designer I never really looked at, and the fabric is "soft satin" which is actually extremely lightweight and comfortable. The dress I tried on was one size too small so I don't know exactly how it will feel. But I can only assume that since the smaller size was still comfortable, then my dress should feel even better. I personally would not be happy if my dress was even the slightest bit uncomfortable. I get very flustered and cranky if I'm uncomfortable and no one wants to feel that way on their wedding day lol! Good luck!

I'm the same way haha! I think I'll be looking into some of those lightweight fabrics you guys mentioned--I def don't wanna be uncomfortable. Thanks! :)
