ANYONE HAVING A TENT RECEPTION??

hey guys..anyone having a tent reception?? if so where and anything special going on?

im having a tent reception on my aunts land and my brother is building a lge fire pit outside and doing a smores table..

concerns: how does the pictures come out consedering it will be in a tent..can i still use uplighting?

anyone useing lanterns? chinese lanterns? and how will they be lit? christmas lights?...

    We're having a tent reception at Newport Yachting Center.  We were going to hang paper lanterns because we saw a pic from somone else's wedding and they were beautiful.  They used three different complimentary colors and three different sizes, they prob had about 60 or so lanterns.
    We ended up not going with that only becuase NYC requires you to pay somone to install them and that cost about $1400.  Instead we went with a DJ that does up-lighting.  We'll have blue up-lighting all around the outside of the tent.  But if you have the option to do the chinese lanterns I would say go for it.  It really adds a nice splash of color to the big white tent.

    I am having my reception at Fort Adams on the North Lawn (not the Eisenhower House) which is right on the water where the jazz and folk festival are held.  We are having a tent from Newport Tent and Kelli O'Brien from Exquisite Events is hanging lights throughout the tent....

    We're making giant paper flowers, and our tent company will hang them for us if they're done by the time the tent goes up. I'm going to have my shower guests make some, then my bridesmaids and I will "open" them up the day the tent company comes.
