What are your "must-have" photos?

My photographer sent me a form to fill out, and there is a section requesting these.  This is all I came up with:

- photos of my DIY projects
- my dress hanging up before I put it on
- our rings together
- cupcakes/desserts

Any other ideas?  Inspirations?  Things that I'm missing and would totally be upset about?

Thanks ladies!

Re: What are your "must-have" photos?

  • Just thought of another one...a photo of me from the back on the staircase at our venue.
  • I'd get a list together of different groupings you want (IE, you and your parents, you and your grandpa, etc.).  Otherwise it sounds good!  I'm not a huge fan of outlining what the photographer has to capture to a T....don't want them to miss out on an awesome spontaneous photo op because they are busy trying to capture a laundry list a mile long of "must have" photos!

  • I want pics of the decor.  Centerpieces, aisle arrangements, etc.  I figure I am paying for it, and I probably won't even notice it!

I also want a shot of our rings with the paper I wrote my vows on....dont know why but that just stands out in my mind as something I want to capture.

  • I just wanted all of the pictures that my photographer usually takes. I gave her a list of the family shots we wanted.

  •  I'm a May 5th bride. A few days before the wedding I wrote down every combination of pictures that I wanted. It really helped with the flow and I think I got all that I wanted.  Good luck!

I looooove my shoes and i love pics of the gown/crinoline/shoes so that's a must-have for me.

    Definitely the decor.

I'd kind of like a pic of my mom and I's hands together with our wedding rings, because my parents are celebrating their 33rd wedding anniversary just a few days before we get married.

Other than that, the standard family/bridal party pics and I know he knows how to do those. And none of the cheesy "groomsmen dragging groom to the alter" things. My FI refuses to do that kind of stuff.

  • I didn't give our photographer a list. I let her do her thing :) I am glad I didn't NEED to have a picture of the dress hanging because there was no where in the room to hang it!
  • I made a list but typed at the top of it that it was just a guideline. It's super long...and I broke it up into segments, so getting ready shots, first look shots, pics with bridal party, pics with family, ceremony pics, reception pics, then detail pics.

Some big ones for me are pics with my mom while I'm getting ready, pics of my DIY projects I've slaved over..... yeah.

  • we actually missed a lot of my must have photos becuase of timing. My wedding party was huge and it took a lot of time.

But I DID want a shot of our shoes. I picked out cute socks for H and I had really beautiful shoes and no one will ever know.

Also, I really wanted some romantic shots with my parasol and ran out of time.

  • This probably wouldn't matter to some people but we really need a picture of our officiant signing the marriage license. If someone special to you got ordained just to marry you and FI, you want to capture that moment of them making it official. My sister marrying FI and I and that means so much to me.

  • Thanks, ladies!  I'm not trying to tell her what to do, but there is a section on her form where she asks if there are any specific shots that I want...and I think I have some good ideas now!  She already has a section for all the posed family shots, so that's taken care of. :)
  • I found alot of ideas on pinterest - just search for wedding pics/poses. There were some cute ideas! I especially liked one where the groom is showing his groomsmen his wedding band and they are reacting like bridesmaids. Cute!
