The first time we met was at a college party. H had already graduated but came back to visit friends. He tried to talk to me but apparently, I was bitchy to him (his words). Then a few years later while I was still in college, he moved back to IN from MN and we met at a bar- it wasn't a big town. He lived in the town and was friends with some of my college friends. So I guess we kind of met through mutual friends and coincidence. I knew he was the one when we got back from a family gathering where he met all of my family members and said "Wow your family is awesome." None of my ex's had ever said that, and it kind of sealed the deal.

Well Duh! that's a given.
And to answer the other question for all knotties. I met my DH through Match.com. almost 7 years ago now. But he wasn't one of my matches, he bugged me in a chat room. And he had no picture (because he was new), so I was suspicious. But he sent me a few and after a week we met for dinner. He drove an hour in a snow storm to meet me for dinner. And that's all she wrote.
OWN - I think the kitchen or the master bedroom. I love having a kitchen big enough to have multiple people working and entertaining, especially after my dinky apartment kitchens. I also love that I can look into the backyard and see of all the birds, the neighbors dogs playiing, etc. Our bedroom is also just perfectly us, especially with the new bedding. It's just such a perfect place to curl up on the bed and talk. It's calm and relaxing and I love it
We met on a blind date. I was working back and forth from here to a rehab center back home. HIs best friend is married to my supervisor at the time. Since we were both living in Jax they kept trying to hook us up. They thought I needed a date (read: get laid) with a good guy and he needed help picking out girls who didn't suck. They bugged us for a good 3 months before I caved and said they could give H my number. Neither of us were looking for a relationship so we kept putting it off.
He called a couple days later and we set up the date. I knew at the end that this was a guy I could be with forever. We got everything out of the way on the first date that would hold us back--talked about kids, our views on religion and the environment, everything. We weren't going to waste time on someone who wouldn't stick around. It sounds kind of pessimistic, but it worked for us.
H and I work together. He was always just that nice, funny, smart guy down the hall. After I separated from my ex, I got tired of being holed up in my crappy apartment so I asked Mark if he wanted to see a movie with me. I wasnt sure if it was a date or not, but I dressed cute, just in case.
KD, I don't think you sound boring or vanilla at all. I can't wait to meet you in person!
Anysunrise? He is 30? Because he looks about 20 in that picture. And you are 20? You look about 16. Yay for good genes!
Katie- I think your story is so sweet! And be bought Diamond so you wouldn't have to deal with her anymore. lol
H and I went to high school together. We had all the same friends, but didn't really know eachother well. He moved in to a house with my best friend when we were about 17. We started hanging out a lot, and ended up dating.
Everyone - Except Fever, since she already answered How did you meet your fiance/husband?
He was bartending and I made a comment to my friend about the cute bar boy. I also told her I'd kill her if she tried to get him to come over to us (I just wasn't interested in dating). She did anyways and he actually remembered meeting me through mutual friends 4 years earlier. I have no memory of meeting him.
We technically started dating 2 months later, and on a whim, quit our jobs and relocated together 3 months after that. Fast forward 3 years, and now our wedding is in 2 weeks.

I think I watch too much TV. </div>
Sun - We went through the sames things when we first told our families our ages (I was 23, him 33 when we started dating). Mom was concerned but after a week of me talking about him she decided he was alright. His family was really concerned about me being so young, so his sister actually sneak attacked me at work one day (but brought flowers). She came in to introduce herself but chickened out (this still amazes me, chick isn't scared of anything!) so she ended up psuedo stalking me before she got the guts to say hi. She said I was absolutely adorable and perfect for her brother.

Immediate family- Mom. She is a best friend when I need one and mother when I need a mom. Extended- My cousin who is two years younger than me. We were pretty much like sisters growing up. She's very intelligent, kind-hearted, but is a straight shooter and tells it like it is. We have so much in common, but we are very different people. She's the one I could call at 4 in the morning after a fight with H, and she calls me about the most random stuff. It's fantastic.
Ben and I met in 7th grade and we were each other's first boyfriend/girlfriend, first kiss, all that stuff. We dated off and on until we were seniors in high school, but stayed in touch. Two years ago, we started up again. After lots of long talks about it though we've realized that feelings never went away - but having that time apart has really helped us appreciate each other.
I worked at a grocery store. H got a job there and I was asked to train him. At the time I was dating someone else, but I knew I wanted to be with H. Eventually I broke up with the other guy and not too long after that H and I started dating.

Yeah that too :) Diamond (the chinzilla) was one of my problem animals at work. She hated me and always tried to bite me, or would try to pee on my face if I ever went into her cage for cleanings or anything. I know right? He's actually 31 now. We were 17 and 29 respectively when we first started talking; we didn't find this out until a couple months in. It was quite the shock. You can tell a bit more irl, because he has some grey hairs, but I thought he was like 25 for the longest time.
I had posted a picture on our guild forums, but it was a couple months old. He thought when I said it was from a while ago, that I meant a couple years, lol.
I had just graduated high school and he was in college and we were working at the local grocery store during the summer before school started. We started doing things together outside of work around Christmas, but we weren't dating yet. A few months later he came over to my house to watch a hockey game with me (he doesn't like hockey) and the rest is history.
We started talking about marriage 2 years or so into our relationship but we both knew we wanted to wait until we graduated before we got married.
We started dating on 4/18/2004, he proposed on 4/18/08 (a Friday), and we got married on 4/18/09 (a Saturday). Everyone always asks him if he planned it out that way from the beginning.

And that's all she wrote.

His best man was the guy who hooked us up.
Jas: describe your worst date.

<div>Hi! I dreamed about something stressful last night, but I can't remember what. I remembered on my way to bootcamp, but its gone now. I might need to start keeping a dream journal. I have a feeling they'd be really funny to read later.</div><div>
</div><div>A couple weeks ago I dreamed that one of my friends was cheating on her husband with the the neighborhood sperm donor, who looked like the creepy stalker guy from old school One Tree Hill, who is now the Habitat for Humanity guy on Friday Night Lights. Apparently her last kid was his, and he had fathered over half of her older daughter's pre school class. I hit the snooze button twice so I could figure out what was going on. I think I watch too much TV. </div>
Maratea, who is your favorite relative? What makes him/her awesome?
Posted by ohwhynot
Just call me "Brothel"
And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010

Well I ride, he drives. And I don't go much, I'm not hard core it's just something he loves so I go along, because he prefers me to ride with him. He went on a poker run the other day, was gone for about 8 hours, no way is my a$$ on that bike for that long. Plus it was suppose to rain, and I'm a wuss.
Anysunrise? He is 30? Because he looks about 20 in that picture. And you are 20? You look about 16. Yeah that too :) Diamond (the chinzilla) was one of my problem animals at work. She hated me and always tried to bite me, or would try to pee on my face if I ever went into her cage for cleanings or anything. She looooved Scott though, so he bought her right before moving to Maine. Now she's a total momma's girl and we cuddle a lot.
Ok, I have to get stuff done. I promise I'll be back in just a little bit :)

I like to think I am :) When I was little, I was in tapdance and I clogged for about 6 years when I was older, so I think I have some sort of rhythm. And I always love a good booty-shaking song.
