I can't believe all the crazy horror stories people have on here about their mothers or future MILs. My MIL is just happy her son is getting married, and I've been waiting for my mom to go crazy with wedding plans. Now that it's getting down to the wire, she started getting pushier (and she likes to get her way).
So last night we were arguing over how to do the first dance and cake cutting. She had this weird idea to cut the cake right after FI and I's first dance, before people had even finished getting their food. I wanted it differently, she finally said, 'ok, you know what? It's your day, let's do it your way.' And that was the end of that.
My mom giving up control, it's a 'hell has frozen over' kind of thing. She's my best friend and probably one of the coolest moms you'll ever meet (ex. she gave me an awesome lingerie set for 'your special honeymoon time'), but I have to admit, I thought she'd fight harder to plan the wedding herself or something.
