Ceremony and reception in different places

Our ceremony will be in the area where most of the guests live but then the reception is going to be about 40 minutes away. We never thought about the way people will get there, just assumed that they will drive their cars there from the church. (There is also a little toll road at some point). Is it all okay?

Re: Ceremony and reception in different places

  • Maybe on your map card inside invitation, let them know about the toll in advance
  • Thank you everyone! I forgot to clarify that we are in Miami, FL, where everything is far away but still is in the same city. Our ceremony and reception are both in Miami, so hotels wouldn't be necessary, it's just the drive through the city that is long. So my panic was actually not necessary. I just thought about it after reading all the replies and realized that we travel distances like that every day here and nobody has problems with that. I'm so glad =)
  • this is how folks have always gotten to/from receptions - in their own cars.  its only recently, it seems, that B&G's feel the need to provide all kinds of shuttles and transportation services.
  • Your right no one from here minds. I live in Florida and I always have my e-pass/sunpass and I'm guessing so will most of your guest!!! We are always ready for toll roads lol
  • It's not the mileage in Miami; it's the drive time! :)

I love you Missy. Even though you are not smart enough to take online quizzes to find out really important information. ~cew
