Hi ladies. My ex friend and I are both getting married in May. I was wondering if I can wear an Ivory dress to her wedding? She's wearing white so its not ivory. Is it rude (can I add that I dislike her)?
If she's not your friend any more, why are you going to her wedding?
And no, it's rude to wear ivory IMO unless it's so dark ivory that it's more like beige. Plus the fact that you dont' like her clearly indicates you're doing it out of spite, which is just ridiculous and petty.
This just sounds like a bad idea all around. If you're looking for subtle (or not-so-subtle) ways to stick it to your "ex-friend" on her wedding day, you're in the wrong place. Sorry.

You're acting like a child. To wear an ivory dress to her wedding because you dont like her is petty and stupid. I dont understand why youre going if she is you "ex friend'.
Unfortunately, she's marrying my FH's brother. So I have to go....Wahhhhh! I know it sounds immature but SHE'S A COPYCAT! She was getting married on Halloween and when she heard my wedding date (originally May 29th) she immediately send out her STD's with my date on It! Biznitch!

Yeah, that's really rude. Why would you want to do this? Do you really think you'll be upstaging her in any sort of way? If you don't like her, then just don't go. WTF?

Damn ladies... I was really asking whether it was rude or not because I wanted to know. I'm not sure about wedding etiquette... I was just adding that I didn't like her. You dont have to all jump down my throat.
Just saw your response. Seriously, you and this ex friend of yours have the same ILs. Do you really think your FMIL is going to look kindly on you for being a huge biitch at her other son's wedding?

Okay great, so then you read our responses and everyone is saying yes it's rude and wrong, don't do it. Why are WE the twats?
I think if you hate her so much you should just egg her house, especially now because the eggs will just freeze. Her wedding is not the time or the place to be an immature baby.

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Am I the only one who's confused about this whole shared wedding date thing? If you have the same wedding date, how is it that you are worried about going to her wedding? In which case, I change my answer to yes, it's okay to wear white/ivory that day since you'll be at your OWN wedding.

You know nothing about etiquette? You know enough that it would be offensive to wear white to a wedding and yet you ask if you can do it anyway, because you don't like the bride and want to be petty?

Better idea: just don't go

If you do go, don't wear white/ivory or any variation. It will just make you look bad.
